Episode 46: Family Leave | |
Inside, with Vetrix giggling up a storm over the cartoon on TV, Trey comes in
and expresses concern about Yuma's power. Vetrix controls himself and allows
Trey to take on Yuma in a duel to find out. Meanwhile, Yuma has become desperate
and going after every living thing he can find to duel for the last Heart Piece
(not like any of his choices would've had one anyway, let alone the right one).
He bolts, leaving his friends behind and encounters a duelist seemingly passed
out. All the duelist can say is that he was dueling Shark and he wasn't the only
one in his current state as duelists line the alley in front of them. A cry for help several stories up draws Yuma and crew to the top where Shark has defeated yet another opponent. Shark stops to briefly explain that he's in the tournament and decided to trash his opponents before walking away and advising not to interfere. Yuma can't accept that answer and blocks the way. To everyone's surprise, Yuma requests a duel and despite Astral's warning, duel preparations get underway. Trey arrives a story up to watch the duel. Later on, Shark's attack with Big Jaws takes out Yuma's Gagaga Magician (which is apparently in Defense Mode) but Yuma activates Small Resistance to reduce Hammer Shark's ATK by Gagaga Girl's ATK, leaving it down to 700 and Yuma down to 3300 LPs. Since Yuma isn't phased by this, Shark uses his monsters as Xyz Material for Submersible Carrier Aero Shark (1900) in Attack Mode. Next, he uses Aero Shark's effect to detach an Xyz Material from itself and deal Yuma 400 damage per card in his own hand, leaving Yuma down by 1200 LPs to 2100. With that, Shark ends his turn so Yuma draws and plays Gogogo Giant (2000) in Attack Mode and surprisingly ends his turn. While Vetrix and Quinton discuss matters about Trey coming back, Shark brings out Black Ray Lancer (2100) in Attack Mode. His attacks take out GG and leave Yuma down to just 100 LPs but refusing to give up. Furthermore, he orders Shark to keep at it if he wants to have Yuma end up like his previous opponents. Shark used to love dueling but will hate it if he keeps up his current antics. Yuma's hunger kicks in and ruins the moment. To Trey's surprise, Shark's anger disappears and Shark walks away, having no more rage to take on Yuma with. Yuma is happy until he's reminded that not only has he not yet made the finals but had he lost, Astral would've faded away and Shark would've gotten Utopia. However, despite Yuma's guilt trip, Yuma realizes his dad probably would've done the same thing and this is enough to put Trey on a new path. Trey visits Yuma's house and tries to put the pieces together before Yuma's grandma catches him. Despite his claim that he's a friend of Yuma's, Yuma gets a call from his grandma and assesses the situation back home. Trey is amazed at all the artifacts Yuma has and relates them directly to his Chronomaly Deck. They find how much they have in common but the more important matter to discuss is Hart's condition. Trey did what he had to and learns of Yuma's trademark slogan before they're all called down for lunch and once everyone is in place, Yuma's typical eating habits resume as normal and Kari strikes up an argument that reminds Trey of a similar time he had with Quattro. It's also how his family used to be so long ago and he's not in the mood to eat, only to cry. He bolts out of the room and Yuma finds him outside, learning that Trey has realized Yuma's family gives Yuma power. Yuma is always in the way of Trey getting things settled with his family and despite Yuma's protests, Trey throws Yuma a map for where they're dueling that night and walks away. Trey returns to Vetrix's lair but Vetrix can already tell that Trey is hungry for power. In his room, Yuma knows he has to duel Trey to perhaps get him back to normal. Tonight he's going to duel! |
