Episode 42: A Dubious Duo | |
At the site of the pending duel, Quattro has doubts either one of them are a
match for him and so does Orbital 7 but Tori gets Orbital to stay silent with a
threat. Quattro gets the duel started by drawing and playing
Gimmick Puppet Egg Head (1600) in Attack Mode.
Next he uses its effect to discard Gimmick Puppet Dreary Doll to the Graveyard
and deal Kite 800 damage, leaving him down to 3200. Yuma asks Kite if he's fine
but should just worry about himself, even if they're on the same team. Quattro
sets 1 card to end his turn so Kite draws and activates
Photon World, a Field Spell that leaves Yuma gasping for air
unnecessarily. Not only that but since Kite plays Photon
Crusher (2000) in Attack Mode, everyone else takes damage equal to its
Level x 100 by PW's effect if they don't have a Photon monster out. Since none
of them do, they each take 400 damage, leaving them all down to 3600. Quattro admires those that share no loyalty and Kite sets 1 card to end his turn. After Yuma gathers his bearings, Trey draws and summons Chronomaly Golden Jet (1300) in Attack Mode. Next he uses Chronomaly Resonance to Special Summon a Chronomaly monster with a Level greater than CGJ by 1 star and chooses Chronomaly Moai (1800) in Attack Mode. Then he uses CGJ's effect to give it 1 Level to Level 5. (The real card makes all your Chronomaly monsters gain 1 Level, which wouldn't have helped Trey here.) After that, he uses his monsters as Xyz Material for Number 33: Chronomaly Machu Mech (2400) in Attack Mode. Finally, he sets 2 cards to end his turn so Yuma draws and plays Ganbara Knight (0000) in Attack Mode. Next he Special Summons Kagetokage (1100) in Attack Mode since he Summoned a Level 4 monster and uses his monsters as Xyz Material for Number 39: Utopia (2500) in Attack Mode. Trey and Quattro are stunned to see Yuma having a Number card. However, in spite of Trey wanting to change up their team strategy, Quattro has worse in store for Yuma, whom sets 2 cards to end his turn. Quattro draws and uses Level Doubler to discard a second Dreary Doll and double GPEH's Level to Level 8. Next he uses Gimmick Puppet Dreary Doll's effect from the Graveyard to remove itself from play and Special Summon the other copy (0000) in Attack Mode. With the stage set, Quattro uses his monsters as Xyz Material for Number 15: Gimmick Puppet Giant Grinder (1500) in Attack Mode. Tori remembers it all too well and Trey adds to it by activating Number Wall to prevent his Xyz Monster's destruction by card effects. (The real card also prevents Number monsters from being destroyed in battle as they do not come with the bonus effect they have in the anime.) Worse still, Quattro uses Giant Grinder's effect to destroy all other Xyz Monsters out but since Machu Mech is protected by Number Wall, it isn't destroyed, leaving Yuma defenseless and down to 1100 LPs. Astral reminds Yuma of Damage Mage and Yuma plays it (1200) in Defense Mode since they took Effect Damage and regain what they lost, putting them back up to 3600 LPs. Now, Quattro activates Attack Gimmick to give Giant Grinder 500 ATK to 2000 this turn and dealing the ATK of the destroyed monster if it takes out a monster in battle. His attack leaves Kite and his monster unharmed as Yuma activated Impenetrable Attack to prevent PC's destruction in battle. Kite doesn't like this and saying thank you isn't his style but Quattro doesn't like being ignored and shows Yuma and Kite how Hart is fairing. Furthermore, Quattro pushes Kite over the edge and Kite draws before playing Photon Thrasher (2100) in Attack Mode. Next, everyone else takes 400 damage by PW's effect, leaving them down to 3200 LPs. After that, Kite tributes his monsters for Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon (3000) in Attack Mode, bringing everyone down by 800 LPs to 2400. His attack is what Quattro hoped for as Trey activates Stonehenge Shield to negate the attack, reduce GEPD's ATK to 0 and negate its effects since Kite attacked with a monster that had at least 3000 ATK. Trey then uses Machu Mech's effect to detach an Xyz Material from itself and deal Kite the difference in GEPD's current and original ATK, which is 3000. It could be all over for Kite! |
