At the duel, Alister explains that he's there to represent everyone torn apart by Kaiba's company and make sure Kaiba doesn't hurt anyone again but Kaiba here's that speech daily. Nevertheless, Alister draws and summons Gorlag (1000) in Attack Mode, whom gets 500 ATK thanks to The Seal of Orichalcos, putting its ATK at 1500, then another 500 ATK for each FIRE monster, including itself, raising its ATK up to 2000. His attack takes out Kaiba's Defense Position Versago the Destroyer, then Special Summons it (1600) in Attack Mode as a FIRE monster by Gorlag's second effect. He sets 1 card to end his turn, leaving Kaiba to conclude that Alister is better at dueling than he first thought, then mentally calls himself better and summons Pitch-Dark Dragon (600) in Defense Mode and sets 1 card, which Alister suspects is Crush Card as he knows all about Kaiba's life, including his duel strategies.

He holds up the remains of an action figure that used to be his brother's but Kaiba's father took his brother away and recalls the story, including when Dartz stepped in. Mokuba protests that neither he, nor Kaiba are to blame for what happened but Alister gets Mokuba to think about life without Kaiba, which Mokuba can't do. While Kaiba agrees with Alister, he also doesn't care for what Alister did to bring Kaiba to their duel. Alister then activates Royal Decree, making all other Trap Cards useless and forcing Kaiba to end his turn. Alister draws and uses his attacks to destroy PDD, leave Kaiba down to 400 LPs and bring back PDD on Alister's field with 1400 ATK and rasing Gorlag's ATK to 3000.

Kaiba knows he needs a strong monster but has nothing to tribute for its summoning and draws, pleased with the result and activating Card of Demise to draw an extra 3 cards to make his hand total 5. Next he uses White Dragon Ritual to discard his BEWD for Paladin of White Dragon (1900) in Attack Mode. Next he uses Monster Reborn to revive his Blue-Eyes White Dragon (3000) in Attack Mode and attacks, destroying Alister's PDD and Gorlag, bringing Alister's score down to 1200 and also getting rid of his Versago the Destroyer (thanks to Gorlag's unmentioned side-effect). Finally, Kaiba tributes PoWD for a second Blue-Eyes in Attack Mode.

Alister can see Kaiba's strategies a mile a way and draws, using Pot of Greed. Then he uses Aetonics Flame to destroy Kaiba's monsters since they aren't FIRE monsters and bring back his Gorlag in Attack Mode. Next he activates Fire Whip to Special Summon all monsters from the opponent's Graveyard that were destroyed as FIRE monsters, bringing both of Kaiba's Blue-Eyes to Alister's field with 3500 ATK each and raising Gorlag's ATK by another 1000 to 3000 ATK. His field has monsters with a total of 10,000 ATK but he can't attack this turn so he sets 1 card to end his turn.

Kaiba draws and is suddenly transported to where Yugi and Yami were and follows the same instructions to release Critias, causing Yugi's Eye of Timaeus card to glow. Kaiba's draw glows and Alister sees this but Kaiba never put it in his Deck but plays it, The Fang of Critias and proves the card does exist by fusing it with his face down Crush Card to summon Doom Virus Dragon (1900) in Attack Mode, not enough on its own but thanks to its effect, all monsters on the field with 1500 or more ATK are destroyed, leaving Alister defenseless. His attack prompts Alister to activate Contagion of Madness, letting Alister take Kaiba's direct attack, then deal half of DVD's ATK to Kaiba, ending the duel in a draw. Alister has disappeared but warns that it's not over yet.

Inside the car, the driver arrives at a run-down gas station and stops the car, then walks away, leaving the gang to feel uneasy.
