Episode 138: The Final Face-Off (1)
On the duel platform, Yami stares blankly at the Fiend Sanctuary card Kaiba gave him, unsure whether or not to trust him. Kaiba mentally notes that even with the card, Yami has a pretty slim chance of winning. Despite his uncertainty and Joey's advice, Yami adds the card to his deck anyway. Dark Marik has been waiting for this moment his entire life and is eager to see what Yami does. They shuffle each others' deck before Dark Marik brings the Shadow Realm to their duel and adds that there's new twists just for Yami. Yugi awakens to see Yami beside him and the duo see that Good Marik is trapped on Dark Marik's side with one innocent victim going to the Shadow Realm regardless of the winner. DM draws and summons Vampiric Leech (500) in Attack Mode. Next he attacks Yami directly, explaining that his monster can attack instantly (probably meaning that it can attack on the first turn of the duel), leaving Yami down to 3500 LPs and causing Yugi to lose part of his right leg. Yami protests that he won't duel but Yugi and Dark Marik beg to differ and Yugi gives Yami the confidence to continue. Since it's still DM's turn, he uses VL's other ability to discard 1 card (Ra) to switch it to Defense Mode, then sets 1 card to end his turn. Yami draws and summons Queen's Knight (1500) in Attack Mode and takes out VL but DM's score is unchanged since VL was in Defense Mode so Yami sets 2 cards to end his turn. Dark Marik gets a good draw but first summons Juragedo (1700) in Attack Mode and destroys Yami's QK with its attack, leaving Yami down to 3300 LPs and Yugi losing more of his body. Finally, DM sets 2 cards and ends his turn. Yami draws and DM activates Left Arm Offering to discard all cards in his hand and take any Spell Card from his Deck, choosing Monster Reborn. However, Yami activates Exchange to force both players to take a card from the others' hand (and at 14:55 into the US episode, Dark Wall of Wind is the right-most card). While Yami gets DM's Monster Reborn, DM takes Yami's De-Fusion card. Then, Yami uses the Monster Reborn to bring back Queen's Knight, then summons King's Knight (1600) in Attack Mode and, due to KK's effect, Jack's Knight (1900) in Attack Mode to end his turn. DM draws and sets 1 card before using Card of Sanctity, forcing both players to draw cards until their hands hold six (" "), then switches Juragedo to Defense Mode and ends his turn. Yami draws, then tributes his 3 monsters for Slifer the Sky Dragon (X000) in Attack Mode and with six cards in hand, its ATK and DEF are 6000. He attacks but Dark Marik activates Dark Spell Regeneration to use any Spell Card in the Graveyard and he chooses Monster Reborn to bring back The Winged Dragon of Ra and now Yugi will be consumed by darkness while the Pharaoh's power will be Dark Marik's!
