Episode 113: Merger of the Big Five (3)

At the duel, due to Altar of Mist's effect, Lector-Tristan has added Dragon Revival Ritual to his hand and uses its effect to bring out all their Deck Masters: Jinzo, Deepsea Warrior, Nightmare Penguin, Judge Man, and Robotic Knight, each of which has a different attribute and Ritual Summons Five-Headed Dragon (5000) in Attack Mode. (The real card is a Fusion Monster that is Fusion Summoned with 5 Dragon-Type monsters as Fusion Materials. I also note that not all the tributed monsters they used have a different attribute. Deepsea Warrior and Nightmare Penguin are both WATER monsters and two have the same type.) Joey and Yami remember the last time they faced it but Yami notes that FHD can't attack the turn it is Summoned (which isn't present on the real card's effect) but Lector-Tristan forgot to mention that when Summoned, his FHD, destroys all cards Joey and Yami control (also not present on the real card's effect) and cannot be damaged by FIRE, WATER, EARTH, WIND or DARK monsters, leaving only LIGHT monsters able to take it down.

Lector-Tristan sets 1 card to end his turn. Joey draws and after not getting a monster, sets 3 cards and moves his Deck Master Flame Swordsman to his field. Yami moves his Deck Master Dark Magician to the field, planning to defeat FHD the same way as last time but the Big Five protest it's impossible since Yami doesn't have the cards to summon it (where's your evidence of this?). Nevertheless, Yami uses Polymerization to send both their Deck Masters to the Grave for Dark Flare Knight (2200) in Attack Mode and not giving in to Lector's protest that DFK can't harm FHD and attacks, destroying itself but triggering both its effects that save him and Joey from Battle Damage and brings out Mirage Knight (2800) in Attack Mode, a creature of LIGHT. Yami attacks, explaining that his monster gains ATK equal to the other monster's ATK, putting its ATK up to 7800 and destroying FHD. However, Lector-Tristan's score only drops to 600 as he had activated A Deal with Dark Ruler, which by paying half his LPs reduced Battle Damage to 0 and summoning Berserk Dragon (3500) in Attack Mode. (The real card is a Quick-Play Spell that has no activation fee, nor prevents Battle Damage but needs to be activated when a Level 8+ monster you control is sent to your Graveyard yet still brings out BD.)

Unfortunately, MK only stays on the field for one turn and when it leaves, it reverts back to Dark Magician and Dark Flare Knight. (The real Mirage Knight is removed from play after using its effect and doesn't do anything else.) Yami's turn isn't over yet as he uses Magical Hats to conceal his Dark Magician, then spends 1000 Life Points to duplicate MH's effect, brining his score down to 1000 and hiding Joey's monster too. BD can attack up to 4 monsters at a time, meaning he can't miss. (The real card can attack all monsters your opponent controls once each, so he'd be able to attack all 8 hats at once.) Lector-Tristan chooses to attack but much to the dismay of others, Joey uses his own Deck Master to intercept the attack. When the smoke clears, Yami, Joey and their respective Deck Masters survive as Joey activated Silver Dollar to prevent his monster from being destroyed as FS is weak. Lector-Tristan isn't through with them yet and neither is BD but BD's effect causes it to lose 500 ATK each turn, bringing it down to 3000 and Yami and Joey take note.

It's just in time for Joey's turn as he activates his face down Knight's Title card to turn Dark Magician into Dark Magician Knight (2500) in Attack Mode. Next, since his Deck Master ability only works on Warrior-Type monsters, he transfers 700 ATK from his Deck Master to DMK, putting his Deck Master down to 100 ATK and DMK up to 3200. Yami takes over and attacks, destroying BD and winning the duel (though they could've just used DMK's effect to destroy BD without having to attack but maybe its effect is different?). However, the Big Five don't believe in playing fair and attack but are deflected back into Tristan's body as Noah makes all of them vanish, leaving Yugi and the gang alone. Tristan gets down about not having his body but Serenity makes him realize he could learn to live as is.Meanwhile, Noah has a talk with the Big Five and refuses any of their pleas for help, deciding to imprison them in separate parts of the Virtual World. It's time Noah challenge Kaiba personally to prove once and for all that he's the true heir to the Kaiba family!
