Episode 22: Face-Off (1)

Still down below, Kaiba has no choice but to agree to Pegasus' terms, which is to defeat Yugi in a duel for the chance to face Pegasus himself. Meanwhile, the gang make it out and Bakura's Ring points again to Pegasus' castle, right where they're headed. Everything for Yugi paid off and it's like there's two Yugis: One they've known for years and a stronger Yugi but maybe there are two Yugis! Joey and Tristan call out to Yugi and Tea` from half way up the steps. Yugi races ahead but trips on a rock, remembering how he rescued Tea` from Tea`'s days as a waitress to defeating a pervert in a game.

Yugi does know what Tea` means but is told both are really good guys and they head up only to discover that Kaiba is blocking their path, requesting a duel. Yugi protests that he doesn't have to duel and Joey steps up to the challenge but Kaiba doesn't have the patience to duel him again but can't believe Joey has 10 Star Chips. Kaiba feels that he now knows what Yugi means by Heart of the Cards and nothing will stop him. After his transformation, Yu-Gi-Oh accepts the duel and the group follow Kaiba to the top of the castle. Down below, Bandit Keith gains entry into the castle and is told of the action on the roof. Back on the roof, the duo wager 5 Star Chips for the match, meaning only one of them earns the right to enter the castle. BK arrives at the top, figuring he might as well watch the duel on the roof to kill time but is surprised to find Yugi and friends out of the cave and Kaiba in the rematch of the century, convincing him to find a front-row seat.

Kaiba begins the duel with Ryu-Kishin (Rather Ryu-Kishin Powered because Ryu-Kishin is a weaker monster) (1600) in Attack Mode. Yu-Gi-Oh brings out Curse of Dragon (2000) in Attack Mode and takes out RKP, leaving Kaiba down to 1600 LPs. Kaiba brings out Swordstalker (2000) in Attack Mode whose ATK goes up by 20% for the monster in Kaiba's Grave, putting its ATK to 2400 (The real card has no such effect). He attacks but Yu-Gi-Oh activates Monster Replace to switch his Curse of Dragon for Dark Magician (2500) in Attack Mode, which takes out Swordstalker, leaving Kaiba down to 1500.

Yu-Gi-Oh re-summons Curse of Dragon in Attack Mode to end his turn. Kaiba plays La Jinn, the Mystical Genie (La Jinn, the Mystical Genie of the Lamp in the CG) (1800) in Attack Mode and Yu-Gi-Oh attacks, activating Kaiba's Ancient Lamp Trap Card (which is a Monster Card in the CG) protecting LJ and deflecting Yu-Gi-Oh's attack on CoD, destroying CoD and leaving Yu-Gi-Oh's score even with Kaiba's. Yu-Gi-Oh re-plays Dark Magician and isn't impressed with Kaiba's skills but they're all just ploys to assemble all three Blue-Eyes in his deck to create a monster stronger than Yu-Gi-Oh has ever seen, the Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon!
