Episode 7: Attack from the Deep

Joey starts off the episode by going on about his victory with Mai and Tristan has to cool Tea`'s aggravation down and all that dueling made them hungry. None of them remembered to pack any food and they aren't interested in looking for food recommended by Tristan's Survival Guide. Joey's concentration breaks to the smell of food and he darts off. We find the source to be three cooked fish and Joey can't wait to chow down, despite not wanting to think about who the fish belong to. Tristan tries to act in agreement, at least for Tea`'s side, then switches to Joey's side and goes to dig in as well.

A duelist comes up from the rocky cliff, angry telling them it's their last meal. However, he gets tossed back into the water by a rogue wave and has to repeat himself. Yugi recognizes him as Mako Tsunami, the top-ranked ocean duelist and says he himself is Yugi Muto, which convinces Mako to let them eat his fish. Afterwards, they try to leave but Yugi narrowly avoids impact with a harpoon and Mako requests a duel in exchange for food. Yu-Gi-Oh accepts the duel, which is half land and half ocean for the arena terrain. Mako plays (what he reveals only after his attack) Fiend Kraken (1200) in Attack Mode. Yu-Gi-Oh, despite having no idea what he's up against, plays Horn Imp (1300) in Attack Mode, which gets destroyed, leaving Yu-Gi-Oh's score down to 1740 (which means FK's ATK after the FPB is 1460).

Yu-Gi-Oh plays Feral Imp (1300) in Attack Mode and Mako counters with Giant Jellyfish (Jellyfish in the CG but that may be what the anime version's name is) (1500) in face down Defense Mode. Yu-Gi-Oh equips his FI with Horn of the Unicorn, raising its ATK to 2000. His attack does nothing thanks to his Jellyfish, which can block electrical attacks. His counter attack destroys FI, leaving Yu-Gi-Oh down to 1480 LPs. Yu-Gi-Oh plays Silver Fang and equips him with Full Moon, which (based on what I presume is the effect) doubles its ATK. Since the moon controls the tides, it causes the tides to rise, letting Mako play Kairyo-Shin (1800) in Attack Mode and taking out Silver Fang to leave Yu-Gi-Oh down to some amount. Yu-Gi-Oh plays Giant Soldier of Stone (2000) in Defense Mode, to 2600 by the FPB. Mako says it's no match for his own Great White Terror (1600) in Attack Mode.

However, Yu-Gi-Oh changes his GSoS to Attack Mode and attacks the moon, destroying it and leaving Mako's monsters exposed. (You cannot attack anything but monsters in the CG.) To deliver the final blow, he plays Curse of Dragon (2000) in Attack Mode and Burning Land before attacking to win the duel. (You also can't attack after you go into Main Phase 2, which Yu-Gi-Oh did there, in the CG.) Mako departs to get food as the others joke about eating Tristan's Survival Guide.
