Episode 120: Mission: Astral World (3)
At the duel, just when Yuma is about to give up hope, Rainbow Kuriboh reminds him that it is in his hand to save him like before. With that, Yuma Special Summons Rainbow Kuriboh (100) in Attack Mode and equips it to New Order 12: Epiric Maahes, preventing it from attacking. Elephus isn't worried, confident that Yuma will lose and considers Yuma foolish for relying on his Number card. Regardless, Ray Victory's ATK returns to 2800 before Elephus sets 1 card to end his turn, reattaching his Xyz Monsters to Maahes. While Yuma thinks of what to do next, Past Shark saves a tearful young girl and offers her food by the fire, learning her name is Iris. Furthermore, she greatly resembles Rio but he vows to protect her like he did with Rio and engages in a battle with Vector the following day. Unfortunately for Past Shark and his army, Vector and his army retreats and with dusk approaching, they know it's the perfect chance to finsh off Vector and his army once and for all.
However, Shark isn't ready to strategize just yet and heads outside to think about the consequences of their upcoming battle as night arrives. Rio's spirit arrives to note that she can see his feelings that stay hidden from others. Past Shark just doesn't know what to do, figuring it's nice for certain people he knows to be so dumb that nothing worries them. Shark decided the fate of his army and that's what he's deciding at this very moment. Rio's spirit will always be with Shark and Shark now realizes how he can avoid massive casualties on his side. The following day, Shark's army realizes Shark is gone and Dumon figures Shark went after Vector. Sure enough, that's what Shark has done and is also dealing with Abyss. Shark gets past and arrives at the temple where he dueled Abyss in reality, calling out to Vector for a one-on-one battle. Vector agrees and morphs the labyrinth.
When they meet, Vector is confident that Shark will lose and decides to make it a shadow duel whereby they duel with stone tablets made to look like cards. With that, Vector draws and plays Gorgonic Ghoul (100) in Attack Mode. Next, he Special Summons 2 more Gorgonic Ghouls for 300 LPs each as he controls a Gorgonic Ghoul, bringing him down to 3400 LPs. Next he plays Breaking the Norm to Special Summon Mermaid Shark (100) in Attack Mode from Shark's Deck (as he controls 3 or more monsters with the same Level and since MS matches the Level of those monsters but they don't tell you either of those facts). Vector sets 1 card to end his turn but while Iris races to find Shark, Shark draws and plays Spear Shark (1600) in Attack Mode. Next, he Special Summons Silent Angler (800) in Attack Mode (as he controls a WATER monster but they don't tell you that either).
Furthermore, he plays a second Silent Angler in Attack Mode by its effect before choosing to attack. As a result, Vector activates Gorgonic Temptation to make MS the attack target instead. However, this also forces Shark's army to attack and the two of them control the fate of what happens next in the battle. Vector did this to watch Shark squirm but the attack continues, destroying MS and leaving Vector down to 1900 LPs. However, Vector activates Disaster Conspiracy to destroy monsters on Shark's field and Deck whose ATK is higher than MS, leaving Shark with few monsters to pick from. Shark's army also suffers but Shark sets 1 card to end his turn. Vector draws and summons Gorgonic Cerberus (1300) in Attack Mode. Next, he uses GC's effect to make all his monsters Level 3. With that, he uses his monsters as Xyz Material for 2 Gorgonic Guardians (1600 x2) in Attack Mode. His direct attacks hurt Shark and his army as his LPs drop to 800. Iris arrives to see the carnage.
However, Shark isn't willing to give up and uses both his Gazer Sharks' effects from the Graveyard, each allowing it to be used as Xyz Material from the Graveyard. (The real card Special Summons 2 Level 5 WATER monsters from your Graveyard by banishing itself from there but negates those monsters' effects.) With that, he uses his monsters as Xyz Material for Number 73: Abyss Splash (2400) in Attack Mode. Next he uses Number 73's effect to detach an Xyz Material from itself amnd double its ATK to 4800. His attack forces Vector to use GG's effect to negate Number 73's effects and make its ATK 0. However, Shark counters with Overlay Wedge to negate all GGs' effects since it requires detaching an Xyz Material (though that requirement is also left out). Shark's attack takes out GG to win the duel but Vector protests that it's not over yet.
The Barian emblem falls and crumbles before Vector heads outside to see the shape his men and Iris are in. Shark runs to Iris' aid but it's too late. The sun  peeks through the clouds and takes the fallen army members and Iris away. Worse still, Dumon adds that those people are going to Barian World to become Barians. It's finally sinking in that Shark and Rio are indeed Barians but it brings Shark to tears as he never could've guessed this would happen. Back at Yuma's duel with Elephus, Yuma knows he cannot lose this duel and draws. Next, while energies surge from the portal to signal its potential destruction, Yuma plays Xyz Treasure to draw 1 card for each Xyz Monster on the field, giving him 2 cards. Next he uses Stealth Strike to halve Ray Victory's ATK to 1400 and attack Elephus directly. However, Elephus is ready and activates Rank Wall to negate the attack and end the Battle Phase since his Xyz Monster has a higher Rank. Yuma sets 2 cards to end his turn, needing a plan B.
Elephus is confident Yuma's end is coming thanks to his Rank 13 Xyz Monster, something Yuma never knew existed.
