Episode 111: A World of Chaos (2)
As sunset approaches, we find Yuma running to Astral, trying to hide that he got detention again but Astral is quick to figure it out. However, it's clearly just a dream as things aren't making sense like why Astral would wait so long just to tell Yuma goodbye. Furthermore, Yuma is brought back into reality of their duel with Number 96, whom asks if they were daydreaming (and in which case you could've attacked without any interference). Number 96 attacks Yuma directly with Heraldry Crest of Horrors but Yuma is ready and Special Summons Gagaga Gardna (1500) in Attack Mode since he's being attacked directly. However, this means Yuma's Swords of Burning Light is destroyed since he now controls a monster. Nevertheless, Number 96's attack continues so Yuma discards Bacon Saver to prevent GG's destruction in battle, bringing his score down to 1500 LPs.
Number 96 isn't done and attacks directly with Dark Storm, detaching an Xyz Material from itself to drain GG's ATK and add it to itself, raising its ATK to 2500. However, Yuma is ready and uses Bacon Saver's effect from the Graveyard to remove itself from play and reduce Battle Damage from the attack to 0. Despite Astral's words that he and Yuma can't lose, Number 96 isn't buying it and attacks directly with Heart-eartH Chaos Dragon, leaving Yuma and Astral down to 500 LPs and reeling from the effects of the Barian Sphere Field. Due to Chaos Dragon's effect, Number 96 now gains LP equal to the damage they took this turn, raising his score to 7500. (The real card doesn't have this effect.) Yuma provides a speech that proves to be too much for his body and he collapses. Yuma tries to claim he's fine and get up but can't do it so Astral agrees to take over.
With the transfer of cards in Yuma's Deck and a new duel disk added to Astral, they resume the duel as Number 96 activates Number Karma, which'll deal Astral 500 damage if he doesn't control a Number monster at the end of his turn and all he has is 500 LPs left. With that, Number 96 sets 1 card to end his turn and Astral draws, knowing what he must do. Next he activates Number Return to revive Number 39: Utopia (2500) in Attack Mode from the Graveyard to everyone else's surprise. As a bonus, Utopia gains the remaining 2 Xyz Monsters in Astral's Graveyard as Xyz Materials. Yuma adds that 39 has been their lucky number and Utopia has always been there for them, then merges with Astral using their ZEXAL powers. The duo know their powers can overcome anything and use Utopia as Xyz Material for Chaos Number 39: Utopia Ray (2500) in Attack Mode.
Number 96 is ready and activates Number Lockdown to not onlky prevent Utopia Ray from attacking or using its effects but will destroy it at the end of the turn, dealing Yuma and Astral its ATK as damage. Yuma and Astral aren't done as the use Xyz Treasure to draw 1 card for each Xyz Monster on the field, giving them 4 cards. Next, they use Utopian Hope to destroy NL since it's affecting a Utopia monster. With Utopia Ray free, Yuma and Astral activate its effect three times to detach all its Xyz Materials and have it gain 1500 ATK to 4000 while lowering Heraldry Crest of Horrors' ATK by 3000 to 1000. After that, he plays Zexal Weapon - Sleipnir Mail (ZW - Sleipnir Mail in the CG) (1000) in Attack Mode and equips it to Utopia Ray, giving it 1000 more ATK to 5000. Now he uses Overtake Summon to detach a Chaos Xyz Material from Dark Storm to Special Summon Zexal Weapon - Asura Strike (ZW - Asura Strike in the CG) (1000) in Attack Mode, which also gets equipped to Utopia Ray.
As a result, Utopia Ray now gains 1000 additional ATK to 6000 and can attack all of Number 96's monsters at once. However Number 96 responds with Chaos Alliance to have is monsters' ATKs become equal to the Chaos Number he controls with the highest ATK, making them all 2500 ATK each. Chaos Dragon and Heraldry Crest of horrors fall first, leaving Number 96 down to 500 LPs and one monster left. Should Yuma and Astral attack Dark Storm, they'll both take battle damage, ending the duel in a draw but Yuma doesn't think so and attacks. Due to Sleipnir Mail's effect, Utopia Ray's ATK becomes equal to Dark Storm's, destroying both monsters. (The real card doesn't have this effect.) The duel isn't over yet as Yuma uses another of Sleipnir Mail's effects to revive Number 39: Utopia since a Utopia monster on his field was destroyed.
His attack takes out Number 96's remaining LPs to win the duel. Yuma and Astral kneel on the ground in exhaustion but Number 96 is in shock that he lost but feels he has enough power to finish Yuma and Astral off once and for all and takes aim. The duo split but Astral begins being consumed by darkness again and the others can only watch in disbelief. However, Astral remains pure and gets rid of Number 96 but is in the middle of a giant opening in the ground. Worse still, he hasn't regained his strength but shares that Yuma has continuously reminded him of their friendship. Much like his dream, Astral slowly fades away and says goodbye, leaving Yuma breaking into tears and unwilling to let Astral go. Yuma's key transports them home but the key and Astral is nowhere to be found, leaving everyone to mourn over the ordeal in one form or another.
