Episode: 106: Put to the Test (2)
At the duel, as they look on, Shark and Astral realize the trouble Kite is in because unless Kite does something, he'll either lose from the attack or from destroying Soul Drain Dragon. Fortunately, due to Soul Drain Dragon's effect, it cannot attack the turn it is Summoned. (The real card simply cannot attack directly at all so he'd be able to attack with it now in this case.) Jinlon adds that the current challenge is one of many Kite will face and Kite's next draw will likely determine whether he passes or fails the test. Kite draws and plays Desperate Maneuver to pay 800 LPs and cause SDD to lose half its original ATK, putting it down by 2000 to 6000. Furthermore, since Kite is down 800 LPs, SDD is down 800 more ATK, leaving it with 5200. Since it's not enough, Kite uses Dragonic Divine to pay 1000 LPs and get a Spell Card back he used this turn since he controls a Level 8 Dragon-Type monster, bringing him down to 2200 LPs and SDD down to 4200. As a result, he gets back Desperate Maneuver.
Kite uses Desperate Maneuver again, bringing his score down to 1400 and SDD down to 2400 ATK, enough for Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon to get rid of it. His attack takes out SDD to leave Jinlon down to 3400 as he wants mercy from Kite. However, SDD deals Kite damage equal to half its current ATK, leaving Kite to take a heavy blow and 1200 LPs, bringing him down to 200 LPs but it's no surprise to Shark thanks to Kite's earlier plays. Yuma is as usual the last to figure things out but is confident Kite will win this duel even with so few LPs remaining. Furthermore, since Jinlon controls no other Dragons, Number 46: Dragluon reappears but Kite is ready and activates Destruction Reward to draw 2 cards since he destroyed a Level 7 or higher mosnter. With that, Kite sets 2 cards to end his turn so Jinlon draws and uses Number 46's additional effect to take GEPD since Number 46 has no Xyz Materials and is Jinlon's only Dragon-Type monster out, or Kite can pay half his LP to destroy GEPD instead.
Kite's bond with GEPD is so strong, he refuses to hurt it so Jinlon takes control of it successfully. Jinlon finds it fitting to attac Kite directly with GEPD and does so but Kite activates Destiny Break to draw 1 card, then negate the attack if he draws a monster. Luckily, he draws the monster Galaxy Knight, negating the attack. Kite drew what he needed because it was destiny but Jinlon still has an attack left and does so with Number 46. However, DB is continuous so Kite uses its effect again and gets a second Galaxy Knight, negating the attack once more. Furthermore, he destroys DB (by its effect but they don't really tell you that) to Special Summon the Galaxy Knights (2000 x2) in Attack Mode that were drawn by its effect. Jinlon still isn't worried and sets 1 card to end his turn. Kite's moves impress Yuma but Astral needs to see a lot more to be impresssed with Kite and for Kite to get out of his situation.
Kite draws, declaring it the beginning of the end for Jinlon, and plays Destiny Overlay to use one of Jinlon's monsters as Xyz Material with one of his own and it leaves Jinlon in disbelief. With that, Kite uses Jinlon's stolen GEPD and his 2 Galaxy Knights as Xyz Material for Neo Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon (4500) in Attack Mode. Tori, Rio and Orbital 7 look on to see the glowing lightning above them. Jinlon is impressed at Kite for using the very monster stolen from him and bringing out a powerful monster to boot. Regardless, due to Number 46's first effect, NGEPD's effects are negated but Kite isn't phased as he uses Overlay Sentinel's effect from the Graveyard to banish it from there and lower Number 46's ATK by 500 for each Xyz Material attached to NGEPD, which is 3. As a result, Number 46's ATK is cut in half to 1500.
Furthermore, Kite uses Overlay Booster's effect to banish it from the Graveyard and give NGEPD 500 ATK for each of its Xyz Materials, raising its ATK by 1500 to 6000. His attack prompts Jinlon to activate Dragon Dance to banish 2 Dragons in his Graveyard and lower NGEPD's ATK by their combined ATK. He chooses to banish Soul Drain Dragon and Armed Protector Dragon, leaving NGEPD to lose all its ATK. Jinlon counter attacks and is confident that the test is over. Kite agrees and activates Galaxy Dragon Maelstrom to negate DD's effect and destroy it, restoring NGEPD's ATK to 6000. His attack takes out Number 46 to win the duel. Why was Kite tested? It had to do with the legend of the temple, which includes Mizar and much more as Jinlon explains. Jinlon tested Kite to see if Kite followed his heart unlike Mizar.
However, Mizar overheard this and attacks Jinlon for it. Kite interupts, wanting a rematch after their last duel was cut short. Mizar agrees but the mere presence of his power is causing the temple to crumble so Mizar leaves, declaring that their confrontation isn't over yet. The temple disappears, taking Jinlon with it but Yuma finds another of his dad's coins. Jinlon isn't gone for good and returns as Number 46, revealing it to be his other form when not a human. Since Kite followed his heart and learned so much, Jinlon teaches the group a final lesson and Astral realizes he battled against the Barians before. Jinlon departs, leaving Kite with the card, and reminding Kite to not to fight foolish battles as they lead to destruction. Back on the ship, Astral realizes his true purpose, destroy Barian World!
