Episode 54: Welcome to the Jungle
Inside the tunnel, Yuma needs to keep calm but wants more LPs and realizes that without any Trap or Spell Markers to help out, he's going to have to duel and takes a spiraling track further down. In the jungle, Dextra and Vetrix converse before the video feed is lost as Mr. Heartland deliberately cut the feed so no one sees the duel. At said duel, Vetrix is impressed at Dextra's amount of LPs but Dextra notes that players that don't Summon or Set a monster take 1000 damage and draws before using Dance of the Butterspy to Special Summon Morpho Butterspy (1200) and Swallowtail Butterspy (1800) in Attack Mode from her hand. Then she uses her monsters as Xyz Material for Photon Papilloperative (2100) in Attack Mode. After that, she activates Butterflyy Charm to destroy any of Vetrix's monsters that don't attack, Elimigate to destroy a monster that Vetrix attacks with and Butterfly Swarm to pay 2000 LPs and deal 1500 damage to the owner of a monster that gets destroyed, brining her score down to 6000.
Dextra vows to save Kite as she did long ago and recalls the events of that day where Kite summons Daybreaker (1700) in Attack Mode and defeats the out of control robot. Vetrix considers the ordeal the lamest he's ever heard but Yuma and the others arrive and are lead to the duel. Vetrix shares info about his predicament and Yuma and Astral analyze it before Vetrix draws and sets 1 monster, then one additional card for his turn. Dextra admits it's a clever move and draws. Next she pays 2000 LPs to keep BS on the field, bringing her score down to 4000. Then she uses PP's effect to detach an Xyz Material from itself, change Vetrix's hidden Heraldic Beast Aberconway (1800) to Attack Mode and have that monster loses 600 ATK to 1200.
Her attack takes out HBA to leave Vetrix down to 3100, then 1600 by BS' effect. Finally she sets a monster to end her turn but Vetrix isn't completely phased by it. Yuma's comment gets him an injury from Tori before Dextra admits she'd sacrifice anything to save Kite but Vetrix draws and plays Heraldic Beast Berners Falcon (1000) in Attack Mode, costing him the monster by BC and BS' effects, leaving him down to 100 LPs. However, Vetrix is only down for a few seconds as he uses Advanced Heraldry Art to use the 2 Heraldic Beasts in his Graveyard as Xyz Materials for Number 8: Heraldic King Genome Heritage (1800) in Defense Mode to end his turn.
Dextra isn't scared and draws before paying to keep BS on the field, bringing her score down to 2000. Next, she uses PP's effect once more to force Number 8 to Attack Mode and reduce its ATK by 600, brining it down to 1800. Her attack prompts Vetrix to activate one of Number 8's effects to detach an Xyz Material from itself and copy PP's name and leave PP nameless. (The real card has only one effect that gives it the ATK and name of the targeted Xyz Monster, makes the ATK of the targeted Xyz Monster 0 and negates its effects.) As a result, since PP can't attack, it's destroyed and Dextra takes 1500 damage by BS' effect, bringing her down to 500 LPs. Worse still, Vetrix decides to take her memories.
Yuma gets Dextra to remember what she's fighting for and she plays Moonlit Papillon (1200) in Attack Mode. Next she Flip Summons her hidden Blue Mountain Butterspy (0000) to Attack Mode and uses her monsters as Xyz Material for Photon Alexandra Queen (1200) in Defense Mode. (The real BMB cannot be Normal Summoned or Set.) Then she uses PAQ's effect to detach an Xyz Material from itself, return all monsters on the field to the owner's hands and deal each player 500 damage for each of their monsters returned. (The real card deals 300 damage per monster returned by its effect.) However, Vetrix is ready with Heraldry Record to negate PAQ's effect since it requires detaching an Xyz Material. With that, Dextra ends her turn, looking dazed. Vetrix draws and attacks with Number 8 to win the duel by Butterfly Swarm's effect.
Before disappearing, Vetrix tells Yuma he's next and Yuma runs to Dextra's aid but Dextra cannot remember whom she was just thinking about. Yuma will make Vetrix pay!
