Episode 48: Exit: Astral
At the duel, Yuma trembles in fear at the sigh of seeing Astral held captive and Trey sets 1 card to end his turn, urging Yuma to continue the duel. His friends manage to get him to draw a card but Yuma considers forfeiting when he has no idea which card to play. Instead, Trey draws and plays Chronomaly Mud Golem (1700) in Attack Mode. His attack doesn't destroy Gogogo Golem by its own effect but deals the extra difference to Yuma since its ATK is higher, leaving Yuma down to 1500 LPs. Worse still, Trey activates Heart of Stone to let CMG attack again since it didn't destroy GG. As a result, GG is destroyed and Yuma is down to 1300 LPs. His direct attack with Number 33: Machu Mech forces Astral to remind Yuma of his past and feel the flow.
It works and Yuma brings out Gagaga Gardna (1500) in Attack Mode since he's being attacked directly, leaving him down to 400 LPs. As a result, Trey has had enough of Astral and punishes him to the point of destruction. Yuma trembles again and nearly falls off the edge. His friends rush over and grab him just as he starts falling and bring him back and try to get him to recall his memories. Trey punishes them all by imprisoning Yuma's friends down below but not before Tori gets Yuma's key. All seems lost until Yuma's father in Astral World breaks Yuma free of Trey's curse and Tori gives Yuma his key and the courage to continue.
However, things turn sour when Trey brings up Astral's removal and Yuma doesn't believe it, even when Trey says otherwise. Trey then uses Chronomaly City Babylon's effect to remove from play Mask Golem and revive Chronomaly Cabrera's Catapult (" ") (1800) in Defense Mode to end his turn. Yuma draws, recalling what Astral has taught him and remembering that Astral is still in his memory. Next he uses Gagagarevenge to revive Gagaga Magician (1500) in Attack Mode and equip it to that monster. Then he summons Flelf (800) in Attack Mode and uses its effect to discard Overlay Eater, a Level 2 monster, and have it gain that monster's Level, making it Level 4. With that done, he uses his monsters as Xyz Material for Number 39: Utopia (2500) in Attack Mode.
Since GM was Xyz Material, Gagagarevenge also gives Utopia 300 ATK to 2800 and Yuma takes out Machu Mech with Utopia, leaving Trey down to 1800 LPs. Trey isn't discouraged and draws before Tributing CCC/CCT for Chronomolay Sol Monolith (600) in Attack Mode. Due to CSM's effect, Trey makes Chronomaly Mud Golem Level 6, then uses his monsters as Xyz Material for Number 6: Chronomaly Atlandis (2600) in Attack Mode. What's worse, Number 6 can equip itself with a Number monster in Trey's Graveyard and Trey does so with Machu Mech, giving Atlandis 5000 ATK. His attack forces Yuma to activate Utopia's effect to detach an Xyz Material from itself and negate the attack.
However, Trey uses Atlandis' other effect to detach an Xyz Material from itself and halve Yuma's LPs to 200. (The real card only gains half the equipped monster's ATK and must send that monster to the Graveyard to halve the opponent's LPs while preventing you from having a battle phase that turn.) Trey knew Yuma couldn't survive without Astral so this duel is over!
