Episode 38: Double Jeopardy (2)
At the duel, Nistro gets Yuma to realize he has no more cards to discard to keep Gagaga Gardna alive on the field but Yuma realizes another thing and uses Tasuke Knight's effect from he Graveyard to Special Summon itself (1700) in Attack Mode and end the battle phase. However, while he does have two Level 4 monsters, he needs Astral's presence to be able to Xyz Summon Utopia and Astral is still in Astral World with Utopia and upon getting multiple signals, sends Utopia to help Yuma but Number 96 captures it, leaving Yuma to duel without it and takes out Morpho Butterspy to leave Dextra down to 3500 LPs.
Yuma's draw is of no use but things turn in Astral world too as Utopia manages to slip out from Dark Mist's grip and escape. Just when Yuma is about to make a move, Utopia and its card appear. Astral still doesn't appear and Yuma realizes that Astral must be in danger. Worse than Yuma thinks, Number 96 is now controlling the collected numbers and using them for himself. Realizing that Astral must've made a big sacrifice to bring him Utopia, Yuma uses his monsters as Xyz Material for Number 39: Utopia (2000) in Defense Mode and both Nistro and Dextra are in awe. Next Yuma sets 1 card to end his turn.
Nistro has his sights on Utopia but it's Dextra's turn and now that they know Yuma has a Number card, they're playing it by the book. Furthermore, Dextra draws and summons Moonlit Papillon (1200) in Attack Mode, then uses her monsters as Xyz Material for Photon Papilloperative (2100) in Attack Mode. While Astral continues to struggle in Astral World, Yuma questions why Dextra is using a Photon monster like Kite. Dextea and Nistro discuss how Yuma could've ended his duel with Kite in a draw without being majorly skilled and Dextra brings up the fact that Yuma must have the being from Astral World.
With that done, Dextra uses PP's effect to detach an Xyz Material from itself, change Utopia to Attack Mode and lower its ATK by 600 to 1900. Next she uses Berserk Scales to give PP 1000 ATK to 3100 this turn. Her attack prompts Yuma to use Utopia's effect to detach an Xyz Material from itself and negate the attack. Furthermore, due to BS' other effect, PP loses 2000 ATK, bringing it down to 1100. Nistro has been waiting a while for this and draws before tributing Blade Bounzer for Phantom Bounzer (2400) in Attack Mode. Just as Yuma feared, Nistro then uses his monsters as Xyz Material for Photon Strike Bounzer (2700) in Attack Mode. His attack tricks Yuma to use Utopia's effect but PSB's effect is then activated to negate the effect and deal Yuma 1000 damage.
While Astral is captured by Dark Mist, Yuma activates Damage Diet to halve the effect damage from PSB, leaving his score down to 500. Since PSB can still attack, Nistro does so and Yuma counters with Half Unbreak to halve the Battle Damage and bring his score down to 100 LPs. Despite Dextra's suggestion to give in, Yuma gets to his feet instead so Nistro sets 1 card to end his turn. Yuma draws and plays Cardcar D (800) in Attack Mode and uses its effect to tribute itself and draw 2 cards, neither of which are going to help. Yuma is about to give in until Flip and Tori give him the courage to carry on. In Astral World, just when it looks like Astral is going to be consumed by Dark Mist, he's freed as well and joins Yuma.
The pieces are in place for Yuma's victory and Yuma uses Overlay Eater's effect from the Graveyard to remove itself from play, take one of PSB's Xyz Materials and attach it to Utopia. Next he and Astral attack but since it's not enough damage, they use Utopia's effect to negate the attack. Since they negated the attack, they activate Double or Nothing! to double Utopia's ATK to 3800. However this isn't enough so they activate Double Tension to double its ATK again to 7600 since they're attacking with it again. Nevertheless, Nistro activates Bounzer Guard to make his monster take the hit instead, costing him the duel. For some reason, Nistro felt it was right to take the hit for Dextra and Flip is so excited he bursts into tears.
Next time, Nistro is taking Yuma's Number monster down for good and both agree to give Flip a 2nd chance but won't be so forgiving if Flip cheats again. The duo head off to tackle more cheaters while Flip gets his just deserts from the boys he stole Heart Pieces from. Inside, Nistro wants their duel with Yuma kept secret so he can take down the original Number card. Flip ends up a heap on the ground and back to square one, or rather none!
