Episode 12: The Pack (2)
At the duel, Scorch and Chills ridicule Yuma and Shark but Shark assures they still have the advantage because Number 61 is out of Xyz Materials. However, it can still attack directly (not so with the real card) and does so but Shark activates Zeus' Breath (Poseidon Wave in the CG) to negate the attack. Regardless, Scorch sets 2 cards to end his turn. Yuma draws and plays Goblindbergh (1400) in Attack Mode. Next, he uses Goblindbergh's effect to Special Summon the Level 4 Gagaga Magician (1500) in Attack Mode. Despite Astral's warning not to, Yuma uses his monsters as Xyz Material for Number 39: Utopia (2500) in Attack Mode.
Scorch and Chills aren't worried as Chills activates Avalanche to prevent Utopia from attacking. Furthermore, if Yuma uses its effect, he takes 500 damage. All Yuma can do is set 2 cards and end his turn so Chills draws and attacks Shark directly with Icebergdon but Yuma counters with Utopia's effect to negate the attack and ends up taking 500 damage, leaving him down to 1900 LPs. Chills still has another monster and attacks Shark directly with Blizzardon but Yuma again uses Utopia's effect, bringing him down to 1400 LPs. Nevertheless, Scorch activates Volcanic Ash to switch Pompadour Blizzardon to Defense Mode. Next, Chills activates Frozen Ice Cave to make Blizzardon Level 5 since it's in Defense Mode.
Now he uses his monsters as Xyz Material for Number 19: Freezerdon (2500) in Defense Mode. After that, he uses Freezerdon's effect to detach an Xyz Material from it and have Number 61 regain its Xyz Materials. (The real card allows you to detach an Xyz Material from itself instead of the monster activating its effect by detaching Xyz Materials.) However, Shark is quick to note that their opponents are cheating by rigging their Duel Disks to give them the exact cards they needed. Still, Scorch points out that Shark cheated in the Nationals Finals and we get a bit of that. Yuma stands up to Shark because he's been in Shark's predicament when he dueled Shark himself. He ended up breaking the vow he made just to win the duel.
Shark is ready to win and draws before playing Xyz Gift to draw 2 cards since there are 2 Xyz Monsters out. (The real card forces you to be the one to control 2 Xyz Monsters and detach Xyz Materials from one of them to draw 2 cards.) Next he plays Needle Sunfish (1500) in Attack Mode, then uses Surface to revive Big Jaws (300) in Defense Mode. With that done, he uses his monsters as Xyz Material for Black Ray Lancer (2100) in Attack Mode. Then he uses BRL's effect to detach an Xyz Material from itself and negate Number 61's effects. Furthermore, due to NS' effect, Volcasaurus loses 500 ATK, bringing it down to 2000. His attack prompts Chills to activate Compensation Exchange to negate the attack and take damage equal to Volcasaurus' ATK, brining him down to 2000 LPs. Worse still, Scorch activates Volcanic Abyss to look at Yuma's hand and return Gogogo Golem back to his Deck, confident Yuma isn't skilled enough to use Monster Reborn.
With that, Shark sets 1 card to end his turn so Scorch draws and uses Volcasaurus' effect to detach an Xyz Material and destroy BRL. However, Yuma is ready with Damage Diet to halve Shark's damage to 1050 and bring Shark down to just 50 LPs. In response, Shark activates Icy Crevasse to destroy Volcasaurus and inflict damage to Scorch equal to its ATK but Chills uses Forced Change to have his own monster get destroyed and cost him the duel instead. Scorch gets really angry and uses Volcasaurus' effect again to destroy Utopia but Yuma uses Damage Diet's effect again, brining his score down to 150. Regardless, Scorch decides to attack directly but Shark activates Final Offering to negate the attack and give one card in his hand to Yuma.
Scorch is unphased as he uses Twin Volcano, letting him deal 500 damage to Shark or Yuma during each of his turns and/or send it to the Graveyard to deal 500 damage to Shark or Yuma. Yuma knows what to do and draws. Next he uses Monster Reborn to revive Shark's Black Ray Lancer. Then  he uses Armored Xyz to revive Utopia and equip BRL with it, giving it all of Utopia's effects. Yuma's attack takes out only Volcasaurus, leaving Scorch defenseless and down to 1900 LPs. Furthermore, Yuma sends Utopia to the Graveyard to let BRL attack again, wining the duel. As he grabs Number 19 and 61, Astral makes his latest observation that not all duelists play fairly. The memories he obtains has him stunned while Scorch and Chills come to and run away.
Yuma apologizes and after a pause, Bronk is willing to drop it altogether to duel Yuma. Shark heads out and doesn't want Armored Xyz back, even though Yuma helped him.
