| Episode 129: Unleash the Dragon (1) | |

In the passageway, Jaden and crew recap their situation but Jaden wants to go alone as he considers Marcel to be too powerful because of having the Sacred Beast cards. Jaden fought them before and won though and Bastion has figured out what he believes is the secret to unlocking the Rainbow Dragon card, what Eisenstein had been trying to tell him before the signal was lost. He believes the card must be played and survive against the Sacred Beasts. They devise a plan but Duel Ghouls surround them before they can head out so they summon monsters to clear a path and finally make it outside where they battle an arsenal of monsters. Jesse orders his Cobalt Eagle to find the capsule housing the Rainbow Dragon card and when it's found, he and Axel head over. At last, in the knick of time, Jaden arrives at his duel site to meet Marcel, whom becomes temporarily possessed by Eyeball. They activate their Duel Disks as Jesse releases the Rainbow Dragon monster that destroys the monster he and Axel encounter. Jesse finally has completed the Crystal Beast deck and they head over to Jaden's duel as Marcel begins his turn by summoning Chaos Core (0000) in Attack Mode. Next he sets 1 card to end his turn. Jaden plays Elemental Hero Sparkman (1600) in Attack Mode and attacks, triggering CC's effect, which forces Marcel to send the 3 Sacred Beasts from his Deck to his Grave to take no Battle Damage (and apparently not be destroyed in battle because his monster still stands after the attack). Jaden sets 1 card to end his turn. Marcel draws and sets another card face down to end his turn. Jaden uses Tag Request to bring out an Elemental Hero with the same ATK as Sparkman and he chooses Elemental Hero Necroshade (1600) in Attack Mode. He orders Necroshade to attack but Marcel better explains his CC's effect, reducing Battle Damage to 0 3 times (still didn't mention that it can't be destroyed in battle though). With that, Jaden uses Instant Fusion to Fusion Summon Elemental Hero Darkbright (2000) in Attack Mode. (The real card Special Summons a Level 5 or lower Fusion Monster for the turn and costs 1000 Life Points to activate) When Jaden attacks with Darkbright, Marcel activates Chaos Burst, destroying both monsters and dealing Jaden damage equal to Darkbright's ATK, leaving him with 2000. (The real card forces you to Tribute a monster to activate the card and only deals 1000 damage) Jaden uses O - Oversoul to bring back Sparkman (1600) in Attack Mode and end his turn. Marcel claims he can beat that and plays Phantom of Chaos (0000) in Attack Mode. He goes to trigger its effect but Jaden counters with Hero's Rule 2, which forbids Marcel from selecting cards in the Graveyard while it's face up (The real card is a Counter Trap Card) so Marcel counters with Dark Shrine Bribery (Dark Bribe in the CG), cancelling out Jaden's Trap Card but letting him draw 1 card. Using PoC's effect, he selects Hamon and attacks, destroying Sparkman as he explains PoC can't deal Battle Damage but since it has Hamon's effects, Jaden takes 1000 damage, leaving him with 1000 Life Points. Since his turn has ended, PoC returns to normal. Jesse arrives to bring the news while the rest gather the students to bring them inside. He requests to be part of the duel provided Marcel gets extra LPs and Marcel gladly agrees. If they don't win this duel, they'll all lose! |
