Episode 84: Generation NeXt

Bonaparte comes racing in, calling Crowler's name. Their worst fear has come true. The faculty kitchen ran out of fondue? No, it's worse, or actually a toss-up. Chancellor Sheppard's back and headed their way! Crowler realizes they have a situation for if Sheppard's back, he'll go to Vice Chancellor but Bonaparte's Vice Chancellor, he can't say goodbye to him just yet. Crowler says he'll tell of Bonaparte's shenanigans and Bonaparte will do the same to Crowler. Sheppard enters, wondering what the new White Dorm is. Bonaparte and Crowler cling to one another in fright, then they ask what they can do to help. Sheppard says to gather all the students for he has an important announcement to make, one that will affect all of them and change their lives. At the classroom, Sheppard sees that there is a new White Dorm on campus, to which Crowler and Bonaparte apologize for.

Regardless, Sheppard is still in charge and he announces the Gx Dueling Tournament and tells what it is. Hassleberry and Syrus quickly see what Jaden's thinking about and move away. Outside, everyone discusses their strategies. Jaden asks Syrus and Hassleberry if they want to duel him but obviously they don't. Hassleberry's looking for someone he can easily defeat, and so is everyone else. Syrus runs off with everyone else, except Jaden, following behind. At the White Dorm, Chazz tells Sartorius not to worry as the crew will make everyone in the tourney see the light. Sartorius gets up and walks away. Alexis asks if there's anything they can do to help but Chazz says there's only one thing they can do and that's win. Back at Sheppard's office, Sartorius enters and Sheppard welcomes him, saying that he won't fear someone like Sartorius but will still keep his eye on him even though he looks harmless so he's invited the duelist Sartorius requested. On the helicopter, a woman announces to her prince that they're approaching. Is she sure the Destiny Heroes are there? She says that someone informed her that they're in possession of someone on the island.

The prince says the someone best be watching their back. At an unknown dueling site, Syrus plays Jetroid (1200) in Attack Mode. His opponent isn't impressed but Syrus knows that Jetroid can let him play a Trap from his hand when Jetroid is attacked and he'll win with his Magic Cylinder. Syrus looks small but duels big. The Slifer Red ignores it and draws, tributing Berserk Gorilla for Jinzo (2400) in Attack Mode and attacks, destroying Jetroid and leaving Syrus with 400 LPs. Syrus draws, playing Pot of Greed to draw twice. Then he plays Expressroid (400) in Attack Mode and uses its effect to pick up Stealthroid and Drillroid. Finally, he uses Vehicroid Connection Zone to send all of his monsters to the Grave for Super Vehicroid - Stealth Union (3600) in Attack Mode. The Slifer Red says he doesn't want to duel him anymore but it's too late. Syrus attacks, destroying Jinzo and winning the duel. At another duel, Hassleberry's opponent says nothing Hassleberry plays will get by his front line. Hassleberry draws and tributes his 2 monsters for Black Tyranno (2600) in Attack Mode and, using its effect, attacks directly, winning the duel. At a 3rd duel, Bastion is dueling a duelist with a FIRE deck. Oops, they're showing Familiar Possessed - Hitia's ATK at 1840 instead of 1850 in BOTH versions at 9:42 into the episode!

Bastion activates Litmus Doom to tribute Water Dragon for Litmus Doom Swordsman (0000) in Attack Mode and with a Trap Card out, its ATK becomes 3000. The Obelisk Blue student reminds Bastion that he has Backfire out. Bastion tributes his Litmus Swordsman for Plasma Warrior Eitom (3000) in Attack Mode and by halving its ATK, it can attack directly and it does, winning the duel. Back at the "fishing hole" Jaden wonders where the pro duelists are. Syrus and Hassleberry announce to Jaden that they won their duels. Jaden's been waiting for the pro duelists but no luck so far. A helicraft drops from the sky and lands. Syrus mentions that the mark on the helicraft is the mark of the Misgarth Kingdom, which had recently launched a satellite into space but no one knows what it does or why it was sent up. It was also mentioned that the prince is a duelist. Jaden runs over to meet the prince but Sartorius stops him, saying that the prince(apparently named Prince Ojin) didn't come for children and insists that he be the Ojin's first opponent.

Jaden continues that he was first but Ojin discovers that Sartorius has the Destiny deck (even though he really doesn't). At the dueling site, Ojin and Sartorius are about to start when Bastion requests that Sartorius duel him instead. Chazz and Alexis tell Bastion to get a life and that any loser can get metals from slackers. Bastion just wants to be noticed. The duelists put up their wagers: Ojin for his satellite and Sartorius for the Destiny Heroes. The duel finally starts as Ojin plays Pot of Greed. Next he uses Cost Down to discard 1 card to lower the Level of a monster in his hand. (The real card lowers the Level of all monsters in your hand). He chooses and plays Satellite Cannon (0000) in Attack Mode. Then he uses Charge, giving his monster 2000 ATK for a total of, of course, 2000 ATK. Jaden says Ojin will win but Syrus doubts Ojin can do it before Sartorius' next turn. Ojin plays Mischief of the Time Goddess, letting him attack again (well, Ojin, you didn't attack yet). Then he uses Limiter Removal, doubling Satellite Cannon's ATK to 4000.

Everyone is impressed with the move and Ojin attacks with his SC but when the smoke clears, Sartorius is still in the duel as he discarded Arcana Force XIV, reducing his Battle Damage to 0. Ojin plays Satellite Base (0000) in Defense Mode, which gets 1000 DEF each turn and cannot be destroyed by battle from a Level 5 monster. Sartorius will never get through it (unless he plays a Level 6 or higher monster). Sartorius uses Intervention of Fate, which gets discarded when Ojin plays a monster and it lets Sartorius play a Spell Card and Sartorius picks Ace of Sword, forcing Ojin to pick where it lands and since it landed upright, Ojin takes damage equal to a monster Sartorius chooses, which is Satellite Cannon, winning him the duel, in 0 turns. After a bit of a quarrel between Ojin and his "assistant", Ojin hands over his satellite's controls. Jaden can't wait for tomorrow!
