| Episode 105: Rook Takes Knight | |||
|
At the duel, Crow puts it all together between Hook the Hidden Knight and the
crashes and needs to finish the duel and get out of there so he sets 4 cards to
end his turn. Hermann draws, determined not to miss Crow this time and plays
Dark the Hidden Knight (800) in Attack Mode. Then,
he switches Hook the Hidden Knight to Attack Mode and attacks directly with DtHK
by its effect, bringing Crow down to 2400 LPs. His second attack forces Crow to
dodge the Shadow Hook again before Hermann sets 1 card to end his turn. After
ignoring his friends' request for a pitstop, Crow draws and activates
Blackback to Special Summon
Blackwing - Sirocco the Dawn (2000) in Attack Mode since it has 2000 or
less ATK (though he makes it seems like it's only for monsters with less than
2000 ATK and in which case Sirocco wouldn't be a valid target). Next he Special Summons Blackwing - Gale the Whirlwind (1300) in Attack Mode by its first effect. Then he uses GtW's effect to halve HtHK's ATK to 800. After that, he attacks it with GtW, triggering its effect to put both monsters in Defense Mode and inflict 800 damage to Crow, leaving him down to 1600. His attack with StD forces Hermann to uses DtHK's effect to tribute itself and put HtHK to Attack Mode. As a result, the attack puts HtHK and StD into Defense Mode and leaving Crow down to 800. This time, he takes flight to dodge Shadow Hook and reveal HtHK's shadow form in full. In addition, Crow discards Blackwing - Etesian of Two Swords from his hand and deal damage equal to StD's ATK since it didn't destroy a monster, leaving Hermann down to 2000 LPs. (The real card only deals 1000 damage.) As a bonus, Crow uses Urgent Tuning to perform a Synchro Summon (since Gale the Whirlwind is a Tuner but they don't tell you that) and Hermann responds with Shadow Concealing Darkness to prevent monsters in Defense Mode from being destroyed in battle. Regardless, Crow Synchro Summons Black-Winged Dragon (1600) in Defense Mode and uses Defenders Intersect to switch 2 Defense Position monsters on the field to Attack Mode and negate their effects. His attack destroys HtHK and wins the duel but Hermann uses Revival Knight to bring back Hook the Hidden Knight in Defense Mode. However, Crow uses Gravity Collapse to tribute BWD and destroy HtHK. Unable to continue, Crow finally trades with Jack and Jack starts off with 4000 LPs. Nicholas intends on using another plan and takes his turn by setting 1 card. Jack draws and discards Dread Dragon to Special Summon Power Giant (2200) in Attack Mode. As a result, PG's Level drops by Dread Dragon's, making it Level 4. His attack prompts Nicholas to activate Doom Ray and deal 800 damage to both players for each card in his own hand. A total of 4000 damage to both players but Jack uses PG's effect to negate the damage done to him so only Nicholas loses. Not only that but Jack emerges unharmed and with Team Catastrophes' Duel Runner destroyed, they're out of the competition, bringing Team 5Ds to the finals. Jack saved Nicholas for the sole purpose of having Nicholas live with being a wannabe duelist unworthy of actually taking part anymore. Sherry wonders if Shadow Cards are what she's looking for and whether or not they relate to Illyaster. Lester is having a good time watching Primo fail but Primo has left to send out his Duel Bots and bring the city into chaos. |
