Episode 56: Destiny's Will (1)
In his lair, Roman discovers that Kalin has lost and now must be the one to keep their organization together. Above, Yusei deactivates Kalin's tower and makes it out alive. However, it's no time to celebrate as there are 2 towers left and 3 Dark Signers, or rather 4 as Trudge is taken over right in front of their eyes but only long enough to suggest Yusei come to the old reactor to duel Roman. Despite the risks, Yusei knows he has to duel Roman sooner or later and defeating the Earthbound Immortal with him, he'll free even more souls. Meanwhile, Misty reports on the lack of people in town and Lazar finds the wanting-to-know ordeal annoying. He moves to another room and reports to a mysterious man that Goodwin has already left.
Goodwin has arrived at his designated location and his security force has to remind him that they go where he goes and objections need authorization. He enters Roman's lair but their conversation is private so Roman has Earthbound Immortal Uru capture the security force. Roman notes that his time is dwindling and they have to make sure the Signers do not close he gates to the Netherworld in spite of what Goodwin has done thus far to help. The duo activate their Duel Disks and are eager to see what destiny has in store for them next. Meanwhile, Yusei and crew arrive at the gaping hole where the original Ener-D reactor exploded. They all agree to go down into the hole but Crow finds that Sector Security is there too and decides to investigate while the others head down and find Roman. They're just pawns in destiny's game. There's no one to blame for what happened to Kalin and Roman shares a taste of what happened to Professor Fudo 20 years ago. The duel preparations get underway before Roman sets 1 card for his turn.
Yusei draws and discards Level Eater to play Quickdraw Synchron (700) in Attack Mode. Next he uses Level Eater's effect to Special Summon it to his field (600) in Attack Mode by lowering Quckdraw's Level by 1 to Level 4. Then, since Quickdraw can treat itself as any Synchron Tuner, Yusei treats it as Junk Synchron and uses his monsters as Synchro Material for Junk Warrior (2300) in Attack Mode. His direct attack leaves Roman down to 1700 and letting Roman activate Wolf in Sheep's Clothing to Special Summon 2 copies of Dark Spider(0000 x2) to his field in Attack Mode but Leo isn't worried and has to be reminded of what Roman has in mind. (The real card Special Summons 2 Level 1 monsters from your hand and Deck respectively.)Roman draws and activates Spider Web (not the anime card mind you) before tributing his tokens for Earthbound Immortal Uru (3000) in Attack Mode.
He attacks directly by its effect so Yusei activates Synchro Barrier to tribute Junk Warrior and negate the attack. Roman sets 2 cards, then activates Destiny Activator by sending the top card of his Deck to the Graveyard and if Yusei's draw is the same, his LPs are halved. Luckily, Yusei gets a Trap Card for his draw, then plays Speed Warrior (900) in Attack Mode, knowing that it's not enough to beat Uru but Roman's LPs are vulnerable and goes to attack directly with its ATK doubled by its effect but Roman activates Roar of the Earthbound to destroy SW and deal Yusei damage equal to half SW's ATK, leaving him down to 3100. With that, Yusei sets 1 card to end his turn. Roman draws and attacks directly by EIU's effect but Yusei activates Spirit Force to reduce damage to 0 and add a Warrior-Type Tuner from his Grave to his hand but Roman counters with Earthbound Wave to negate the activation of SF and destroy it, leaving Yusei to take the direct attack and put his score down to 100. He orders Yusei (though he says Jaden from 22:17 to 22:18 into the US episode) to stand up and retaliate so that he can be sent to the Netherworld like his father!
