Episode 100: The Phoenix has Landed (1)

On board the helicopter, Sheppard asks Aster if he found the Destiny card. Aster tells him he found that and his father, then remembers a time when he and Sartorius were chatting about Sartorius' fate in the future. He orders the pilot to drop him off at the white dorm and when his request is denied, he decides to crash through one of the White Dorm's windows as a bolt of lightning takes down the helicopter.

The helicopter becomes hung up on tree branches as the Jaden and his group arrive, asking what happened. No one can believe it as Sheppard thinks the group is talking about them being struck by lightning. Meanwhile, Aster enters several hallways before entering the room where Sartorius is. He and Sartorius have a conversation about what really happened and about Aster handing over his key. Jaden enters, telling Aster not to do it and reminds him what would happen if Sartorius gets both keys.

However, Aster made a promise that he'd save him and he decides to challenge Sartorius to a duel where the winner gets the satellite key. Sartorius starts the duel with Arcana Force III -  The Empress (1300) in Attack Mode and with its effect, normally the opponent would choose but "destiny" has already decided it will be Heads, letting Sartorius play an Arcana Force monster if Aster Summons a monster. Sartorius sets 1 card to end his turn. Aster plays Destiny Hero - Diamond Dude (1600) in Defense Mode, letting Sartorius play Arcana Force IV - The Emperor (1400) in Attack Mode and with its effect, all of his Arcana Force monsters get 500 ATK, raising its own ATK to 1900 and The Empress' ATK to 1800.

Aster uses Diamond Dude's effect to send Destiny Draw to the Grave. Then, he sets 1 card to end his turn. Sartorius plays Arcana Force VII - The Chariot (1700) in Attack Mode, raised to 2200 by AFIII's effect. He orders TC to attack Diamond Dude, destroying it and letting Aster activate Destiny Signal to play Destiny Hero - Defender (2700) in Defense Mode. Since TC got its heads effect, Sartorius can now Special Summon Diamond Dude to his side of the field in Attack Mode.

He sets another card face down to end his turn. Aster discards a Destiny Hero and draws twice due to his Destiny Draw card sent to the Grave last turn. Then he plays Destiny Hero - Dunker (1700) in Defense Mode, letting Sartorius play Arcana Force XVIII - The Moon (2800) in Attack Mode. (The real AFIII's heads effect doesn't require Tributes for Level 5 or higher Arcana Force monsters).

With its heads effect, The Moon gives Sartorius a gift during his Standby Phase. Aster uses Dunker's effect to discard a card and deal Sartorius 500 damage, leaving him with 3500. The gang is impressed but Sartorius isn't. Next time, Aster may actually leave a mark, if there is a next time. Once again, Aster sets 1 card to end his turn. First, Sartorius gets his gift, a Moon Token (0000) in Defense Mode. Next he tributes it and another of his monsters for Arcana Force XXI - The World (3100) in Attack Mode, raised to 3600 by AFIII's effect. Then he orders his Emperor and Moon to destroy Aster's monsters.

Then The World to attack directly but on the direct attack, Aster activates D - Fortune, cancelling out the attack by removing from play a Destiny Hero monster. However, Sartorius uses the effect of The World to send 2 monsters he has to his Grave to skip Aster's turn, lowering the ATKs of his remaining Arcana Force monsters to their original ATKs and orders TW to attack directly, leaving Aster with 900. If only Aster knew what was in Sartorius' hand now, he'd surrender his key. No one can defeat the light! Aster falls to his knees and wearily tells Sartorius to bring it on.
