Episode 92: Duel for Hire |
In the Slifer Dorm, the gang discuss how Crowler and Bonaparte are getting fired. Chazz says it serves them right since it's their fault Sartorius and his goons are cramping everyone's style. Syrus points out that Chazz was one of those goons. Meanwhile inside Sheppard's office, Sheppard remembers what the woman had said. Crowler and Bonaparte enter arguing. How did Sheppard end up with these two buffoons? As Syrus had said, Sheppard wants Crowler and Bonaparte out, meaning they're fired. The two sit on the ground by the water in shame. Pegasus arrives by helicopter, saying that Sheppard had called him here. Jaden calls Sheppard, telling him Pegasus is here. Sheppard says to bring him in and Jaden says there's one problem but doesn't get to finish because Pegasus has announced a duel. Pegasus starts walking away but Crowler and Bonaparte cling to his legs, insisting he hire them, which he finally does but they have to prove themselves worthy and requests a duel, deciding to duel both Crowler and Bonaparte at once. Jaden says he'll TTYL, which isn't making sense to Sheppard (it means Talk To You Later by the way).
The duel commences as Bonaparte plays Toy Soldier (0800) in Attack Mode and ends his turn. Crowler draws and plays Ancient Gear Soldier (1300) in Attack Mode, ending his turn also. Pegasus raises the stakes, giving the duelist with the higher LPs among Bonaparte and Crowler the higher position, along with less hours, more pay and more vacation days but it only applies if the two of them defeat Pegasus, who draws and plays Toon Alligator (1600) in Defense Mode. Hassleberry remarks on it being cute and Jaden cannot believe Hassleberry said "cute". Pegasus sets 1 card to end his turn. Bonaparte uses his Toy Soldier's effect, letting him summon 2 more Toy Soldiers (0800 x2) in Attack Mode. Next he uses Forced March, letting them attack directly by halving their ATKs, leaving them each with 400. 2 of them attack Pegasus, leaving him with 3200 and the last one illegally goes to Crowler, leaving him with 3600. Crowler draws and plays another Ancient Gear Soldier in Attack Mode, then uses Ancient Gear Explosive to select one of his Gear Soldiers and deal half of its ATK to Pegasus, leaving him with 2550. (The real card destroys the monster). Next he attacks two of Bonaparte's Toy Soldiers, destroying it and leaving Bonaparte with 3000.
Pegasus removes from play the top 5 cards of his deck to play Toon Kingdom, then tributes Toon Alligator for Toon Dark Magician Girl (2000) in Attack Mode and attacks Crowler directly with it via its effect, leaving Crowler with 1600. Next he uses Shadow Toon, letting him select an opponent's monster and deal its ATK to either player so he chooses to deal AGS' ATK at Bonaparte, leaving him with 1700. Bonaparte draws and plays The Crowning of the Emperor (just Crowning of the Emperor actually), letting him tribute his Toy Soldier for Toy Emperor (2300) in Attack Mode. He attacks but Pegasus uses Toon Kingdom's other effect, removing a Trap on top of his deck to negate the attack but leaving him with 2250. (It must prevent the Toon monster from being destroyed in battle actually or Pegasus wouldn't have lost LPs.) Bonaparte and Crowler are on the verge of giving up when Jaden gives him a "can't give up" speech and both rise to their feet again. Crowler tributes his 2 AGS' for Ancient Gear Golem (3000) in Attack Mode but Pegasus activates Toon Briefcase, returning AGG to the deck yet Bonaparte uses Malfunction to negate TB's activation for 500 LPs, leaving him with 1200.
Next Crowler equips AGG with Ancient Gear Fist and attacks TDMG but Pegasus negates the attack via TK's effect yet Crowler uses AGF's effect to destroy TDMG. Pegasus uses Comic Hand, letting him take control of an opponent's monster and he chooses AGG. Next he removes from play another 5 cards to use Doppelganger, letting him add a Spell card from his opponent's Grave to his own hand and he selects Ancient Gear Explosive. (A similar card was released in the TCG with a different effect).
He uses AGE's effect on Bonaparte, leaving Bonaparte out of the duel, then he attacks Crowler directly with AGG, winning the duel. Pegasus reminds them that working at II is about teamwork and determination. Crowler and Bonaparte realize that Pegasus means they can work at II after all but Sheppard arrives, apologizing for losing his temper since he had a lot on his mind and didn't really mean to fire them. They don't really want to work for II do they? DA is where they belong! Everyone but Chazz, who requests puking, gathers around Bonaparte and Crowler. |
