Episode 217: The Dark One Cometh (3)

At the duel, DB reminds Yugi of being close to the Shadow Realm and doesn't understand why he shouldn't get his hopes up since Yugi can't bring out Yami to save himself. It's the end of DB's turn, which is what Yugi wanted and he draws but DB explains that his Necro Soldier's effect activates, letting him Special Summon another Necro Soldier (0000) in Defense Mode which also uses its effect to bring out a 3rd copy. Yugi begins with his Silent Swordsman becoming Level 5 with 3500 ATK (The real card has only 2300 ATK.). Next he summons Silent Magician (Silent Magician LV4 in the CG and its Level 4.) (1000) in Attack Mode. Once the NS are gone, Yugi wins (except they're in Defense Mode and none of Yugi's monsters inflict piercing Battle Damage). Marshmallon and Silent Magician destroy a Necro Soldier but Silent Swordsman's ATK stops as DB activated Narrow Corridor, limiting Yugi to 2 attacks per turn and the two Necro Soldiers are now spirits on the field.

DB draws and Yugi explains that his SM is now Level 1 with 1500 ATK thanks to its effect but DB is not impressed and plays Counterbalance, forcing each of them to send cards from the top of their decks to the Grave for each monster on the field, including the phantom monsters. However, it only applies to Yugi since DB has no Graveyard (and in which case, you wouldn't be able to play this card without having one as you can't only use part of an effect that is applied to both players). Furthermore, DB plays Necro Mannequin (500) in Defense Mode and activates Necro Cycle to bring out another NM. Seeing no point in dragging it out any longer, DB ends his turn.

Meanwhile, Yami declares that Zorc will pay for his crime and uses the Millennium Puzzle to summon the Egyptian Gods and on the RPG table, DB brings he and Yami to that moment following. Feet away, Kaiba discovers the battle and watches as the God Monsters take their shot at Zorc. Zorc falls and the sun comes out from the clouds but it's all short-lived as Zorc's hand emerges from the ground and makes a total solar eclipse of the sun. As Ra comes in for another attack, it's grabbed by the hand and Zorc is pulled out of the ground with Obelisk clinging after. With Zorc free, Ra goes in for another attack but does no harm as it's powerless without the sun and one by one, the Egyptian Gods fall to ground as statues, which Zorc brings to dust.

Back at the duel, Yugi draws and his SS is now Level 6 with 4000 ATK. Due to Necro Cycle's effect, DB brings out a 3rd Necro Mannequin in Defense Mode. Nevertheless, Yugi takes out the last Necro Soldier and a Necro Mannequin with his SSLV6 and SM respectively. Since Yugi's turn is over, he must send 11 cards of his deck to his Grave but gains 2200 LPs by the Cursed Twin Dolls' effect, raising his score to 3200. DB draws and SM is now Level 2 with 2000 ATK but DB summons Necro Wall (0000) in Defense Mode, which in turn brings out two Necro Wall tokens, bringing the grand total of monsters in play to 14. Yugi draws, raising his SS to Level 7 and 4500 ATK. (The real card's ATK is 2800 and is Summoned only after SSLV5 has attacked directly during your last turn.) His attacks destroy the Necro Wall tokens and he uses Aria from Beyond to activate 1 Spell Card removed from play and chooses Spirit Sword of Sealing, whose target is his own SSLV7.

Next he sends another 11 cards to his Grave and gains another 2200 LPs, raising his score to 5400. DB draws and SM is now Level 3 with 2500 ATK. Next he summons Necro Jar (1100) in Attack Mode and attacks SM with it, destroying itself and leaving DB down to 200 LPs but forcing Yugi to send cards from the top of his deck to the Grave for every 300 damage DB took, forcing Yugi to send 4 cards, gain 800 LPs by CTD's effect and leave him with only 1 card left for his deck. DB decides to add insult to injury by questioning Yugi's skills as a duelist (and he's partially wrong as Yugi fought Bandit Keith back before the Battle City tournament and faced Yami in his own duel to defeat the darkness). Yugi draws, hearing Yami's pleas from Egypt and summons Gandora the Dragon of Destruction to use its effect to sends all cards on DB's field to the Graveyard but is this truly the end of he duel?
