Episode 196: Sinister Secrets (1)

In the audience, the gang discuss what they've learned from Zigfried and Kaiba and have mixed feelings. As Kaiba departs from his spot on the dueling platform, Mokuba catches up, complimenting him on his victory. Despite all that Zigfried has done, he's given a seat to see what the would've missed and the championship match between Leon and Yami is announced. Still on his side of the dueling platform, Zigfried snickers that the duel will be one to to remember as he holds the card from his duel with Kaiba. Up on the Blue-Eyes Fortress, Tea` thanks Mokuba for giving them the best seats in the house. Inside, Yugi remains nervous and is told to stay focused and have fun before becoming Yami.

Leon is making his way up the steps where Zigfried is waiting at the top and reaches out to take a card from Zigfried. When Yami and Leon appear, Leon is looking less happy and has a dream of crushing Yami.

Roland brings the camera to Kaiba for all his hard work but Joey is in the spotlight first and Rebecca notes that Joey lost his first duel (no he lost the second. His first was against Apnarg Otum, which he won). At last the duel starts as Leon plays Forest Wolf (1800) in Attack Mode for his turn. Yami draws and uses Polymerization to send the Gazelle and Berfomet in his hand to the Grave for Chimera the Flying Mythical Beast (2100) in Attack Mode. His attack with Chimera destroys FW and leaves Leon down to 3700. Leon is here to win and win big and plays Little Red Riding Hood (1200) in Defense Mode (well you won't with cards like that, Leon) but Rebecca warns that they aren't the characters they know. Of course, neither is Leon and Kaiba is getting suspicious.

Down below, One of Kaiba's suits sees a problem and runs to tell Kaiba and while he does so, Yami draws and summons Obnoxious Celtic Guardian (Obnoxious Celtic Guard in the CG) (1400) in Attack Mode and takes out LRRH, triggering its effect to let Leon Special Summon a Level 4 Warrior to the field and chooses Forest Hunter (1200) in Attack Mode, whose effect removes from play a Beast or Beast-Warrior from the field, taking Chimera out of play. (LRRH's effect actually Special Summons a Level 4 or lower Beast or Beast-Warrior from its owner's Deck.)Yami can do nothing more but end his turn. Just then, Kaiba's suit appears and hands Kaiba his findings, which Zigfried confirms are true. Once Leon wins, the new era of Schroeder Corp will begin but Kaiba points out that Leon has as much of a shot at defeating Yami as Schroeder Corp has at succeeding.

Yami is determined to find the truth and asks Leon what he's really in the tournament for but Leon holds to what Zigfried is telling him and remembers when he was younger and discovered Duel Monsters where he won by playing Seven Kids (700) in Attack Mode to beat his opponent. Back in reality, Leon draws and summons Iron Hans (1200) in Attack Mode, whose effect lets him play Iron Knight (1700) in Attack Mode (what they aren't telling you is that IK loses 1000 ATK whenever IH is on the field, which is why it has only 700 ATK when Summoned, making its original ATK 1700 as you'll see later in the duel). Leon has three monsters to Yami's one and before long, Yami's title will belong to Schroeder Corp!
