Episode 139: The Final Face-Off (2)

At the duel, Tristan learns that Dark Marik's God Card is stronger so Yami is at a disadvantage, even with two God Cards in his possession. Since Dark Marik Summoned Ra with Slifer out, Slifer's ability activates but doesn't work as Dark Marik points out that Ra is invincible, then proceeds to activate Ra's effect, paying 1000 Life Points to destroy Slifer, brining his score down to 3000 and leaving Yami and Yugi fine but without their God Card. However, Ra will return to the field as Dark Marik then activates Zombie's Jewel, giving him the choice of any Spell Card in Yami's Grave and he chooses Monster Reborn and letting Yami draw 1 card. Perhaps Yami will draw the card Kaiba gave him but in the end, it won't save him. After more talking of what Dark Marik will do once he beats Yami, Yami draws and sets the card without looking face down to end his turn. Kaiba is so baffled he ignores Mokuba talking to him and mentally protests that Yami couldn't have known what card it was but Ishizu mentally states for Kaiba to accept the fact that Yami had drawn Fiend's Sanctuary.

Dark Marik uses Monster Reborn on his Winged Dragon of Ra and uses its ability to give it all but one of his own LPs for its ATK and DEF, raising its ATK and DEF to 2999 and leaving his score down to 1 and his body to just his eye and eyebrow. Furthermore, he tributes Juragedo to add its ATK to Ra, raising its ATK to 4699, enough to win the duel in one attack. He attacks but Yami activates the card he set without looking, Fiend's Sanctuary, giving Yami a Metal Fiend Token that shows Dark Marik's reflection and makes him the target instead. However, after the attack connects and the smoke clears, Dark Marik has separated from Ra and has 4700 LPs thanks to De-Fusion, which he took from Yami's HAND (not Deck as he says from 15:42 to 15:45 into the US episode).

Good Marik has also regained his body from the Shadow Realm and begins calling out to Odeon. Finally, Dark Marik sets 1 card to end his turn and Ra disappears from his field. Yami draws and is given the green light by Yugi to do what is necessary to win the duel and pays 1000 Life Points to keep his token out, leaving his score down to 2300 and less of Yugi's body visible. Next he uses Multiply to make his field have three Metal Fiend Tokens. (The real Multiply forces you to tribute Kuriboh and get Kuriboh Tokens in each of your Monster Card Zones, none of which can be used for Tribute Summons.) Next he tributes the tokens for Obelisk the Tormentor (4000) in Attack Mode and Dark Marik asks how he could let Yami get Obelisk out. He attacks but Dark Marik will not be destroyed!
