Episode 112: Merger of the Big Five (2)

At the duel, Johnson uses his Deck Master ability to pay 1000 Life Points and destroy all of Yami and Joey's monsters, bringing his own score down to 7000 and Yami and Joeys' scores down to 3000. Meanwhile, Kaiba continues figuring out how his design of Kaiba Land is replicated despite building still 4 years away. He gains access inside through his security system, hoping for answers. Back at the duel, Johnson summons Hysteric Fairy (1800) in Attack Mode (still calling her by her Japanese translated name) and attacks Joey directly, leaving Joey down to 1200 LPs. Next, he uses Catapult Turtle's effect to tribute HF and deal Joey damage equal to half her ATK, leaving Joey down to 300 LPs. Then he sets 1 card and activates Altar of Mist, which as Yami recalls lets Johnson play a Spell Card from his Deck after 3 turns (and also cannot be destroyed by card effects as Yami recalls in the Japanese version).

Joey draws and plays Rocket Warrior (1500) in Attack Mode. Next he uses his Deck Master's ability to transfer 1000 of its own ATK to Rocket Warrior, leaving its ATK down to 800 and RW's ATK up to 2500. His attack takes out Catapult Turtle and activates Johnson's Revenge Sacrifice, letting him tribute RW and bring out Machine King (2200) in Attack Mode, whom gains 100 ATK per Machine-Type monster in play, giving it 2300 ATK. Yami knows he must play Des Volstgalph and draws, removing from play his Buster Blader (likely sent there via Card Destruction though we never see it go there) for The Rock Spirit (1700) in Attack Mode. Then, since TRS is a Special Summon, he tributes it for Des Volstgalph (2200) in Attack Mode, leaving Joey to wonder if Yami is serious but Yami sets 1 card, leaving Joey further worried and not being secret about it.

Above, Duke explains what Yami is up to and why Joey is so worried. Just then, after a struggle inside Tristan's body, Nesbit takes over the duel and activates Heavy Storm to destroy all the opponent's Spells and Traps (" "). Next he attacks and ignores Lector's warning, finding out about DV's effect that gives it 200 ATK for a new total of 2400 ATK, destroying MK and leaving Nesbit-Tristan down to 6900, then takes 500 damage due to DV's other effect, not impressing Nesbit-Tristan but taking his score down to 6400. Inside Tristan's body, Lector points out what Yami's friends soon discover, that Joey wasn't attacked.

Lector mentally adds that he'll be stepping in but Joey takes his turn, wanting to take full advantage that Nesbit is out of monsters and his draw is good until he realizes it can't attack without another monster being tributed so he plays Panther Warrior (1600) in Defense Mode. Next he sets 1 card to end his turn. Yami apologizes to Robot Monkey Tristan for having to attack directly and RMT gives him the green light, just pleads not to have his hair messed up. Yami's direct attack leaves Nesbit-Tristan down to 4200 LPs. Finally he summons Big Shield Gardna (2600) in Defense Mode to end his turn and by now Lector has taken over.

Inside virtual Kaiba Land, Kaiba finds little for imagination except another door but behind the door is an outdated movie projector with a movie in place that shows Noah's past, including an accident his parents allude to him being in. He concludes that someone else is behind the whole mess if Noah wanted Kaiba to see the movie. Back at the duel, Lector makes himself known and states that he'll use the body for the rest of the duel and as he draws his card, Joey activates Drop Off but his card is negated as Lector reveals his Deck Master. Lector takes his turn by using Pot of Greed. He's not worried about triggering DV's effect to put its ATK at 2400 and summons Injection Fairy Lily (400) in Attack Mode. Joey's not worried but the duo learn of IFL's effect as Lector pays 2000 LPs to bring his score down to 2200 and raise IFL's ATK by 3000 to 3400.

His attack takes out Yami's DV and leaves Yami down to 2000. Next Lector plays Sebek's Blessing, giving him the same LPs that Yami lost, putting his score up to 3200. He sets 1 card to end his turn. As Joey's turn approaches, Lector activates Gravity Bind, preventing all Level 4 + monsters from attacking and explaining that his Deck Master only stops his opponent's Trap Cards. Joey draws and tributes his PW for his own Jinzo (2400) in Attack Mode, therefore destroying Lector's GB card. Next, after realizing that IFL's DEF doesn't change, he uses Block Attack to put her in Defense Mode and destroys it with his Jinzo's attack. Yami draws and summons Dark Magician Girl (2000) in Attack Mode (by tributing BSG as stated in the Japanese). His direct attack leaves Lector-Tristan down to 1200. For his turn, not only does Lector-Tristan get to use his AoM's effect but he's drawn the Big Five's most powerful creature!
