Episode 95: The Tomb Keeper's Secret

Back inside, Kaiba, asks on the status for translating The Winged Dragon of Ra's Ancient Egyptian text and when told what the problem is, he has a look for himself. To his surprise, he can read it as though it were in English but has never seen the language before in his life and recalls Marik explaining Ra's text and Ishizu explaining his role in Ancient Egypt. He's not some ancient magician, he's the president of Kaiba Corp! Roland announces that round 1 is over and the finalists being Yugi, Joey, Kaiba and Marik with the tournament resuming the next day at their next dueling site. The group go to check on Mai when Ishizu arrives, asking to visit Mai with them. Inside, they learn from Serenity that Mai has been quiet without any words spoken.

Ishizu interrupts, saying that there's hope ahead and that Marik was good once, explaining that Marik's good side disappeared and was replaced by Dark Marik. Yugi thought that putting an end to Marik's plan would defeat him not save him. Ishizu elaborates on her story and we get another glimpse of her family's past and find out why their father isn't there anymore and why they now are not attached to their duties. Joey doesn't feel any reason to feel sorry for Dark Marik, given what he's done and Roland announces that lights are going out in two minutes, giving Tristan the idea to sleep in Joey's room. Ishizu hands Yugi her Millennium Necklace, having no use for it anymore before they head back to their rooms. Tea` stops Ishizu as she's walking away from Mai's room, asking about what happens if Dark Marik is defeated and whether or not there's another evil out there and is told that those questions are for Yugi to find out himself.

Suddenly, the part of Marik's spirit still within Tea` awakens and he uses her to deliver part of his spirit into Bakura via the Millennium Ring. Inside his room, Yugi can't sleep due to being worried and doesn't want to lose anymore friends. Meanwhile, Dark Marik wants to do away with Odeon but a voice stops him and it's Dark Bakura, whom has gained part of good Marik as company. Dark Marik bets his Rod is stronger than Dark Bakura's ring but is shown that both items appear to be equal so Dark Marik suggests to duel for the Millennium Rod. On board the airship's dueling arena, winner gets the Millennium Rod, loser is banished to the Shadow Realm. It's time for them to draw their cards and let the Shadow Game begin!
