Episode 82: The Dark Spirit Revealed (1)
At the fancy party on Kaiba Craft 3, Joey can't believe it's all you can eat but his mood changes when he bumps into Bakura, whom explains that he got into the finals in one duel by defeating Bones. Impatient, Joey asks when they'll announce their opponents but when Kaiba orders this to begin, he's told the 8th duelist isn't present and requests she is. However, when one of Kaiba's suits goes to execute this task, he's told her presence isn't needed. Nevertheless, Roland explains the Lottery Selector (my name for this Blue-Eyes-themed machine) and the first result puts Bakura against Yami, catching Bakura by surprise but Yami is still suspicious. Inside the elevator, he's convinced it's probably Dark Bakura and once on the dueling platform, he gets confirmation. Namu asks about this and is told about Yami and Dark Bakuras' Millennium Items (even though he mentally states the truth). Kaiba makes a brief speech about their cruising altitude and weather conditions before the duel begins with DB playing The Portrait's Secret (1200) in Attack Mode, leading to more suspicion from Yami, whom brings out Gazelle the King of Mythical Beasts (1500) in Attack Mode and takes out TPS to leave DB down to 3700 LPs. He sets 1 card to end his turn. DB plays The Gross Ghost of Fled Dreams (1300) in Attack Mode. Yami responds by summoning Gamma The Magnet Warrior (1500) in Attack Mode and attacks, destroying TGGoFD and leaving DB's score down to 2000. DB brings out The Headless Knight (1450) in Attack Mode. (Just Headless Knight in the CG.) Yami admits its stronger than DB's previous monsters but not enough and attacks, destroying THK and leaving DB down to 450 LPs. Only Kaiba believes that DB has something planned and when DB takes his turn, he does, bringing out Dark Necrofear (2200) in Attack Mode (and if you did know he was planning something, Yami why did you attack?) but isn't ready to attack yet so he sets 2 cards to end his turn. Yami tributes Gazelle for Dark Magician Girl (2000) in Attack Mode, then equips her with his face down Magic Formula card, raising her ATK by 500 (700 in the CG) to 2500. His first attack destroys DN but again that's what DB wanted as his score drops to 150. This allows DB to play Dark Sanctuary. Yami has no idea what he's just unleashed and must be prepared to face something stronger than he's ever faced before!
