Episode 39: Match of the Millennium - Yugi vs. Pegasus (5)

At the duel, Tea` decides they should try reaching out to him. It's successful in blocking Pegasus from seeing past Yu-Gi-Oh's drawn card being a Spell Card. His eye should see everything in Yu-Gi-Oh's Deck! However, he claims his Jigen Bakudan will win despite their friends yet Yu-Gi-Oh protests it's a whole new game now. Yu-Gi-Oh  plays Mystic Box a card Pegasus could've countered IF he had seen it coming (and he nearly did) but allowing Yu-Gi-Oh's Dark Magician to switch places with his own JB, which'll now only destroy Relinquished. Pegasus draws and passes, unable to do anything for his turn. Yu-Gi-Oh then takes his turn by using Brain Control on Relinquished (and Brain Control's artwork got quite the makeover as shown at 6:32 into the episode). Pegasus laughs, saying that JB is set to self-destruct this turn but Yu-Gi-Oh still has the one card Yugi laid out and they find out it's Dark Magic Ritual (Black Magic Ritual in the CG), which he uses to tribute JB and Dark Magician for Magician of Black Chaos (2800) in Attack Mode.

He ends his turn by setting 1 card and 1 monster face down. Pegasus thinks it doesn't matter because with Relinquished back with him, he can take MoBC. He plays Thousand-Eyes Idol (0000) in Attack Mode and uses Polymerization to merge his monsters for Thousand-Eyes Restrict (0000) in Attack Mode, whose powers have to wait until the eyes open. (The real card's effects take hold once it's Summoned.) It isn't long before the eyes open and Pegasus goes to absorb MoBC but that's what Yu-Gi-Oh was waiting for as he activated Multiply to create thousands of Kuriboh duplicates that self destruct on contact, leaving TER blind and freeing MoBC.Yu-Gi-Oh takes 300 damage for Kuriboh being his monster, putting his final score at 100 but he attacks, destroying TER and winning the duel.

Yugi's friends now sense Yugi's return. Pegasus apologizes to his love Cecelia. (Hmm, at 17:31, they've made a few changes to the cards we can see on Pegasus' field, including what looks to be Armor with Laser Cannon more towards the bottom right of the screen and top-center of his field and we know he doesn't own that.) The Shadow Realm cloud dissipates and the group rush over. Joey gets annoyed that Tristan and Tea` steal everything he was about to say but shrugs it off because Yugi won the duel. Bakura chimes in and learns of his recent behavior and loss of his Millennium Ring. Nevertheless, he agrees to watch Mokuba while the others find Pegasus. However, Bakura isn't as normal as they think as his dark half says it's time to add Pegasus' Millennium Item to his collection!
