Episode 36: Match of the Millennium - Yugi vs. Pegasus (2)

At the duel, Joey can't believe Yu-Gi-Oh is finally facing Pegasus for his grandpa's soul. Bakura decides to find out what Croquet is up to, then follows Tristan's path. Parroting Pegasus' exact thoughts, Yu-Gi-Oh sets 1 card face down and plays Summoned Skull (1200) in Defense Mode for his turn. Pegasus draws, then switches Ryu-Ran to attack mode and attacks, activating Yu-Gi-Oh's Spellbinding Circle card, weakening RR's ATK by 700 to 1500. Down below, Bakura searches for Mokuba with his Millennium Ring helping out. Yu-Gi-Oh puts his Summoned Skull to Attack Mode and attacks but Pegasus activates Trap Displacement, moving Spellbinding Circle to Summoned Skull.

(If the real card were to exist with this effect, it couldn't move Spellbinding Circle to any of Yu-Gi-Oh's monsters because SC is can only target the opponent's monsters.) RR's ATK returns to normal and Pegasus counterattacks, taking out the weakened SS, leaving Yu-Gi-Oh down to 1400 LPs.Bakura comes out from the shadows and uses the Chain Energy to temporarily stall them while they themselves escape. Pegasus meanwhile takes his turn by activating Toon World, transforming his monsters into Toon Mermaid (1400) and Manga Ryu-Ran (2200) in Attack Mode respectively. Doesn't Yu-Gi-Oh have a sense of humor (I'm with Yu-Gi-Oh though. Those toons are literally nothing to laugh about, at least not in the anime.)

Pegasus' attack takes out Yu-Gi-Oh's hidden Giant Soldier of Stone (2000) in Defense Mode. He puts TM into Attack Mode to end his turn. Yu-Gi-Oh decides to try a suicide attack with his Celtic Guardian (1400) in Attack Mode but to his and his friends' surprise, it doesn't work.Pegasus just sets 2 cards to end his turn. Yu-Gi-Oh sets 1 monster but Pegasus activates Gorgon's Eye, a permanent Trap Card that reveals all of Yu-Gi-Oh's monsters while active and deals the opponent damage equal to half of their destroyed monster's DEF when their monster is destroyed in battle.

(The real card is a Normal Trap Card that just negates the effects of Defense Position Effect Monsters.) Hoping Yu-Gi-Oh will lighten up, Pegasus activates his hidden Doppelganger card to copy Yu-Gi-Oh's Summoned Skull and therefore transform it into Toon Summoned Skull (2500) in Attack Mode. Yu-Gi-Oh protests that Pegasus is twisted, transforming SS into a monstrosity. (To be honest, I wouldn't care if I hurt the toon's feelings. Perhaps that'd keep it from attacking.) TSS attacks, taking out Yu-Gi-Oh's now revealed Horn Imp (1000) in Defense Mode and dealing Yu-Gi-Oh half its DEF, leaving him down to 900 LPs.Tristan wants to know what Bakura did back there but Bakura refuses, saying the guards are still behind them. With one door locked, they head for another way out, which they find or so they think as Tristan narrowly avoids falling over the edge. They aren't caught just yet as Bakura decides to bring in the Shadow Realm. Yu-Gi-Oh must keep fighting to save them but he can't even save himself!
