Episode 135: Fight for the Future
While the audience struggles to make sense of Team New World becoming Aporia, their Duel Runners are doing the same thing and combine to make a new Duel Runner that Aporia combines with. Yusei wants answers but all Aporia gives is the info that the circuit is nearly complete. Next he draws and uses Infinite Prison's effect to set Grand Core as a Spell Card. Then he uses IP's other effect to send itself to the Graveyard and add all monsters Set as Spell Cards to his hand. After that, he activates Meklord Emperor Creation to banish (rather send) the 3 Core monsters in his hand for Meklord Astro Mekanikle (4000) in Attack Mode. (The real MAM is Summoned without that Trap Card but has the same summoning requirements.) As a result, lightning strikes all across New Domino City and both much of the crowd and the duel crew scatter.
Trudge knows something must be done and contacts Lazar, only to learn that Lazar was forced to install technology that prevents ending the match early. Aporia uses MAM's first effect to take Shooting Star Dragon but Yusei counters with SSD's effect. However, due to MAM's other effect, Aproria discards a Meklord Emperor part to gain that monster's effect. So he discards Granel Guard 3 to gain its effect and prevent Yusei's monster from activating its effects. (The real card doesn't have this effect.) As a result, SSD is absorbed, giving MAM 3300 more ATK to 7300. Knowing how persistent Yusei is at getting answers, Aporia shares the story of how he got to be this way.
Jacob, Primo and Lester were just different variations of Aporia and Aporia will wipe New Domino City off the map but spare its occupants. Not wanting to let Yusei take anything away by winning, Aporia opens up a gap in the track, forcing them to duel on city streets.Aporia attacks directly and prompts Yusei to use Scrap-Iron Scarecrow to negate the attack and save himself and the kid he encounters. Unwilling to duel with people in harm's way, Yusei leads Aporia away into Satellite. To end his turn, Aporia sets 1 card and sends SSD to the Graveyard but Yusei activates Wild Tornado to destroy SSD first and that was his only way to save his LPs. (The real MAM cannot send the monster except during your Standby Phase and you don't get your Battle Phase if the effect is used.)
Yusei draws, then uses Speed World 2's effect to draw 1 card by reducing his Speed Counters by 7.
Next he plays Salvagent (300) in Attack Mode and tributes it to bring back Shooting Star Dragon (2500) in Defense Mode as a regular monster, then sets 2 cards to end his turn. Aporia draws and also uses SW2's effect to draw 1 card. Next he uses MAM's effect to discard Wisel Attack 5 and allow MAM to inflict piercing battle damage to Yusei when it attacks SSD. Worse still, it can negate the activation of Yusei's Trap and destroy it and deals twice the battle damage. In bed, Jack and Crow sit up despite their injuries but it ends for Yusei and New Domino City!
