Episode 132: Dawn of the Machines
At the duel, after taking Lester's place Primo insults Jack and is determined to silence him for good. He analyzes the cards Lester left and draws before playing Wise Core (0000) in Defense Mode. Team 5Ds knows that Primo is aiming to summon Meklord Emperor Wisel but Yusei feels something isn't right as Primo hasn't yet combined with his Duel Runner and is instead holding back. Nevertheless, Primo uses Speed Spell - Lightning Rod, letting him destroy WC since has 2 or more Speed Counters. Since WC was destroyed by an effect, Primo Special Summons Machine Emperor Wisel Infinity (0000), Wisel Top (500), Wisel Attack (1200) and Wisel Carrier (800) in Attack Mode and Wisel Guard (1200) in Defense Mode. Next he uses Wisel Infinity's effect to make it into Meklord Emperor Wisel (2500) in Attack Mode.
He proceeds to use MEWI's effect to take RND but Jack counters with RND's effect to remove itself from play and negate the attack (except it's not an attack, it's MEWI's effect). However, Primo then uses a card meant for Jacob, Infinity Barrage and Jacob knows that means Primo wants to defeat Team 5Ds on his own. Due to IB's effect, Jack takes 400 damage for every monster Primo controls, which is 5, leaving Jack down to 2000 LPs. Jack returns RND to the field, then draws and attacks but Primo makes Wisel Guard the attack target but Jack knew this and activates Burning Strike, which is equipped to RND. Due to BS' effect, since RND is attacking a monster in Defense Mode with less DEF, Primo will take the difference but Primo activates Wise G3 to send WG to the Graveyard and replace it with Wisel Guard 3 (2000) in Defense Mode.
As a result, WG3 can't be destroyed in battle once per turn but Primo still takes damage, bringing him down to 500 LPs. Infinite Aura then gains 35 more counters to bring it up to 75. Furthermore, Primo activates the other card meant for Jacob called Echo Mirror, letting him draw 1 card and Jack will take 300 x the drawn monster's Level if it's a monster. Since Primo draws the Level 3 Wisel Attack 3, Jack takes 900 damage, brining him down to 1100 LPs. Jack sets 1 card to end his turn. Jacob is not about to let Primo jeopardize their plan and lets Primo know about it. Primo agrees to follow the plan and sets 2 cards to end his turn, leaving everyone wondering what's going on as Primo had earlier promised Jack's demise.
Team 5Ds knows something is up and Yusei realizes Infinite Aura is the key to it. He orders Leo to relay this info to Jack and Leo does so before Jack draws and sets 1 card. Next, he activates Synchro Sonic to destroy 1 Spell or Trap Card on Primo's field for each Synchro Monster he has out. He chooses to destroy IA but Primo counters with Infinity Guard Formation to negate his monsters' effects and prevent IA's destruction. Nevertheless, Jack attacks the now vulnerable MEWI to defeat Primo but not before IA gains 5 more counters to 80 and Primo activates Infinite Prison's effect to treat Wise Core as a Spell Card. When Primo returns, Lester gives him an earful but Jacob defends Primo for saving IA. With that done, Jacob takes the baton and races onto the track, leaving Yusei uneasy. Worse still, an unusual Duel Runner appears and merges with Jacob and Yusei concludes that Team New World is part machine.
Jack is ready for whatever Jacob brings and Jacob draws and summons Grand Core (0000) in Defense Mode. Next he uses Attack Cannon (rather Explosive Blast as Attack Cannon is a card that'll see play later) to destroy GC since it hasn't attacked and deal Jack 400 damage, bringing Jack down to 700 LPs. Due to GC's effect, Jacob Special Summons Meklord Emperor Granel Infinity (0000), Granel Attack (1300), Granel Top (0000), Granel Guard (1000), and Granel Carrier (700) before combining them into Meklord Emperor Granel. Due to MEGI's effect, its ATK becomes the same as Jacob's LPs, making its ATK 4000. (The real card is one monster and only gains ATK equal to half your LPs.) Observant of Jack's confidence, Jacob activates Speed Spell - Takeover to destroy IA and gain LPs equal to the number of counters that were on it times 100, brining his score and MEGI's ATK 12,000.
Jacob sets 1 card before attacking, prompting Jack to use RND's effect to remove itself from play and negate the attack but thanks to MEGI's effect, when it attacks, Jacob can negate the effects of the other monster and does so, destroying RND to defeat Jack. Since Granel Attack destroyed a monster in battle, it absorbs RND, raising MEGI's ATK to 15,500. Team New World's victory is immanent and if there's no way to defeat Meklord Emperor Granel, Team 5Ds is done for!
