Episode 83: Will the Real Jack Atlas Please Stand Up? (1)
Inside Zora's place, Bruno answers a knock on the door before a swarm of Sector Security offers rush in and search the area. They find whom they're looking for, Jack Atlas, and arrest him. In spite of Jack noting that he's done nothing wrong, he's put in the back of the patrol car and taken to their HQ. Yusei and others arrive as well and learn of the footage that indicates Jack Atlas Turbo Dueling and getting his opponents to crash. Yusei admits that the timing is right and recalls earlier during their training where Jack summoned Red Dragon Archfiend (3000) in Attack Mode to win but Crow scolds Jack for not using Trust Guardian (can't blame him there, it's pretty bad). Crow gets annoyed with Jack and asks him about it.
Jack insists he's done nothing wrong despite how convincing the evidence is. Crow starts taunting Jack until it's time for silence and Jack is taken away while Yusei restrains Crow. News of Jack's supposed criminal acts spreads and while some are disappointed, others aren't surprised as Jack is pretty arrogant but Leo protests that Jack is innocent. Back at Zora's place, the group discuss Jack's predicament and Leo suggests they go out and find the Fake Jack but they don't have any leads or evidence. At Sector Security HQ, Kaz tries convincing Trudge that Jack is innocent and that's what Trudge wants to believe but the evidence says otherwise. Staring at the ceiling, Jack recalls a moment right when he's been told he's going to jail and even Mina is against Jack due to the evidence.
Jack can't stand the fact that he cannot do anything while a Fake Jack is pretending to be him. However, a mechanical bug of some kind flies over and detonates, releasing the lock on Jack's cell. As the alarm sounds, Jack takes off with his Duel Runner and Deck. As word gets out, Jack is on the road and ends up finding the Fake Jack, whom considers Jack a has-been and not the real Jack. After the duo trade blows with their Duel Runners, Jack is fed up and Fake Jack requests a duel. Duel preparations take place before Yusei gets word of Jack's escape. The duel gets underway as Fake Jack draws and summons Dark Resonator (300) in Defense Mode before setting 3 cards to end his turn.
Jack draws Trust Guardian but doesn't want to use it and instead Special Summons Vice Dragon (2000) in Attack Mode, halving to 1000 ATK by its effect. Next he plays Dread Dragon (1100) in Attack Mode. Since DD is a Tuner, he uses his monsters as Synchro Material for Exploder Dragonwing (2400) in Attack Mode. His attack lets him activate ED's effect to destroy Fake Jack's DR and leave FJ down to 2700 LPs. He sets 1 card to end his turn but FJ is not impressed and has Jack trembling in fear. Down below, Yusei and the others spot a Turbo Duel in progress as FJ activates Shockwave to destroy Jack's ED and have both of them take damage equal to its ATK since FJ has fewer LPs, leaving him down to 300 LPs and Jack down to 1600. Next he plays Mad Archfiend (1800) in Attack Mode, enough to win the duel if it attacks Jack directly but Jack responds with Powerful Rebirth to bring back DD in Defense Mode with 100 more DEF and 1 Level.
However, PR is also FJ's card and he uses it to revive DR in Attack Mode. Next, since DR is now Level 4 and a Tuner, he uses his monsters as Synchro Material for a purple Red Dragon Archfiend (3000) in Attack Mode.
Next he takes out DD with its attack. Then he activates Lineage of Destruction to attack with it again since it destroyed one of Jack's monsters and ends up winning the duel, sending Jack into the ocean below. Yusei and the gang arrive to see the truth but instead of listening, FJ orders RDA to attack and let himself escape. Down below, the Trust Guardian card lies on the rocks.
