Episode 71: French Twist (1) | |||
Yusei finds himself in a very dark room and is unable to figure out where he is
but finds what appears to be a door and tries to open it to no avail. He quickly
realizes he's in the back of a truck and knows it's not a good predicament.
However, he finds a lumpy object covered by a cloth and it turns out to be his
Duel Runner as he recalls what happened. A TV screen activates and we see the
man responsible for putting Yusei in his current predicament and is forcing
Yusei to join their team for the World Racing Grand Prix. Meanwhile, Jack is
having no luck finding Yusei and Crow is working his shift but the subject of
fast food gets Akiza frustrated as Yusei could be in trouble. Crow had also
gotten a strange message that mentions little more than Yusei being captured. Akiza is angry that Crow didn't bring it up sooner but Crow didn't want to freak anyone out. After a brief lesson in word usage, Jack suspect that Akiza loves Yusei but gets cut off by a message telling where Yusei is and they'd better rescue him before the truck reaches its destination. They race to find it and do so while on an overpass, causing Akiza's signer mark to give off an intense pain. A quick maneuver brings them up to the back of the truck and now Akiza stands up despite the danger and summons Rose Tentacles to attack the truck's doors to free Yusei, whom also feels the burning sensation from his mark. The attacks are enough to leave a gap in the doors and letting Yusei see Akiza but the men responsible for Yusei's capture speed up the truck forcing Mina, whom has been behind the wheel of their vehicle, to speed up too. RT doesn't stay on any longer as the men force it off and destroy it. Akiza manages to jump to one of the open doors that Yusei forces open before it breaks off and causes Mina to stop her vehicle. She makes no progress contacting Sector Security when a duelist on a Duel Runner passes by. Yusei decides that their only way out is via his Duel Runner but Akiza is hesitant as she's never ridden one before. Just when they're about to move, the mystery duelist shows up, ordering Yusei to duel him. With no other choice, Yusei leaps out of the truck, which plunges into the ocean below, and onto the street. The duelist explains that Yusei's Duel Runner was tampered with and will explode if Yusei slows down. With duel preparations complete, the MD (Mystery Duelist for short) draws and summons Sacred Knight's Spearholder (400) in Defense Mode before setting 1 card to end his turn. Yusei draws and summons Speed Warrior (900) in Attack Mode and doubles its ATK to 1800 by its effect. His attack prompts MD to activate Floral Shield to negate the attack and letting him draw 1 card. With that, Yusei sets 3 cards to end his turn, returning SW's ATK to 900. MD draws and summons Horse of the Floral Knights (400) in Attack Mode, triggering its effect to let him draw 1 card. Next he uses Speed Spell - Overboost, giving him 4 more Speed Counters this turn. Then he uses Speed Spell - Speed Fusion to use her monsters as Fusion Material for Centaur Mina (2200) in Attack Mode. He attacks with CM but Yusei activates Scrap-Iron Scarecrow to negate the attack but due to CM's effect, SIS is negated so the attack continues and SW is destroyed to leave Yusei down to 2700 LPs. Akiza is actually beginning to enjoy the feeling of Turbo Dueling as MD sets 1 card to end his turn, returning his Speed Counters to 1. Yusei draws and plays Junk Synchron (1300) in Attack Mode and uses its effect to revive Speed Warrior in Defense Mode. Then he uses his monsters as Synchro Material for Junk Warrior (2300) in Attack Mode and attacks CM but MD activates Fleur Guard to prevent CM's destruction in battle, leaving him down to 3900 LPs. Yusei sets 1 card to end his turn so MD draws and Yusei doesn't feel the same vibe as those that kidnapped him and concludes that MD is working alone. MD summons Fleur Synchron (400) in Attack Mode, a Tuner monster, which means only one thing to Yusei. MD uses his monsters as Synchro Material for Fleur de Chevalier (2700) in Attack Mode. Since FS was Synchero Material, MD brings out Apprentice Knight (1000) in Attack Mode. Her arttack with CdF causes Yusei to activate SIS again but it's negated and destroyed by CdF's effect, leaving Yusei defenseless and down to 2300 LPs. However, Yusei activates Miracle's Wake to revive a monster destroyed this turn like JW. (The real card can only Special Summon a monster destroyed by battle that turn.) MD sets 2 cards, realizing he was baited into revealing his strategy, and stops his Duel Runner. Yusei stops his too, and knows it was a bluff. However, MD reveals himself to be Sherry Le Blanc and she's about reveal her true intentions where she plans to take Yusei for herself! |
