Episode 62: Signs of Doom (1) | |||
Outside, as the group continue gazing at the new symbol in the sky, Crow arrives
with Jack and conclude that they're right on time. At the site of the original
Ener-D reactor, a slime monster of sorts overtakes the city and starts wreaking
havoc. As the slime monster moves, Luna gets word from Kuribon that the worst is
yet to come. The gang's Signer marks glow before the Crimson Dragon appears and
brings them to where the new symbol appeared. Goodwin appears and starts to
explain that the slime monster is coming their way for the ritual and that he
himself is a Dark Signer and loses the upper half of his outfit for bigger
muscles before transferring the Crimson Dragon's power to himself using the
metal arm he kept hidden. The tower behind Goodwin rises as Goodwin explains what he'll do next. They'll duel in front of the crest of the condor and he'll win and rule the world. Yusei, Jack and Crow agree to duel provided that the slime monster disappears once they win and agree to Goodwin's terms. Crow draws and summons Blackwing - Mistral the Silver Shield (100) in Attack Mode. Next, he Special Summons Blackwing - Bora the Spear (1700) in Attack Mode by its effect (through its card is an EARTH attribute at 9:41 into the US episode). Finally he sets 1 card face down. Jack draws and plays Mad Archfiend (1800) in Attack Mode before setting a card to end his turn. As Yusei takes his turn, he protests that Goodwin's plan isn't going to work but Goodwin says otherwise and recalls his past including a duel with Roman that he lost on purpose, knowing that Roman wouldn't be able to defeat Yusei Fudo. After a lengthy conversation, Yusei draws and summons Max Warrior (1800) in Attack Mode before setting a card to end his turn. Goodwin draws and Special Summons Oracle of the Sun (1000) in Attack Mode by its effect since he controls no monsters and his opponents do. Next he summons Fire Ant Ascator (700) in Attack Mode. Then he uses his monsters as Synchro Material for Sun Dragon Inti (3000) in Attack Mode. After that, he removes FAA in his Graveyard from play to Special Summon Weeping Idol (0000) in Attack Mode. Now he pays 1000 Life Points to summon Dark Tuner Dark Goddess Witaka (0000) in Attack Mode, bringing his score down to 11,000. Furthermore, he uses Witaka's effect to make its Level equal to the Level of a Synchro Monster on the field so he makes it Inti's Level of 8. Finally he uses WI and DTDGW as Dark Synchro Material for Moon Dragon Quilla (2500) in Attack Mode. (The real card is a regular Synchro Monster that needs "Supay" as the Tuner and doesn't destroy itself during the End Phase.) He sets 2 cards to end his turn, activating Quilla's effect to destroy itself. Crow draws and activates Speed Spell - Tune-Up 1 2 3 to roll a die and increase MtSS' Level by the die result. Since he gets a 1, MtSS is now Level 3 and Crow uses it and BtS as Synchro Material for Blackwing Armor Master (2500) in Attack Mode. Next, he plays Blackwing - Elphin the Raven (2200) in Attack Mode since he already has a Blackwing out. His attacks destroy SDI and leave Goodwin down to 8800 but due to SDI's effect, EtR is also destroyed and Crow takes its ATK as damage, leaving him down to 1800 LPs. (The real card only deals half the ATK of the destroyed monster.) Furthermore, since SDI was destroyed, it Special Summons Moon Dragon Quilla in Defense Mode. (The real card Special Summons Quilla during the next Standby Phase.) Worse still, although Goodwin admits to building the bridge, he learned the lesson the hard way that one has to do what is necessary to get what they want but Crow adds that it's no good if they end up hurting people. However, Goodwin takes all the Signer marks, combines them and adds them to himself. Goodwin will stop at nothing to rule all! |
