Episode 52: A Whale of a Ride (2) | |||
South of the duel, Yusei decides to go alone but changes his mind with some
words from Leo and races ahead, landing in the midst of the duel area.
Meanwhile, Crow is still falling but after remembering his ghostly friends
disappearing from before, he knows it can't end like this and engages his Duel
Runner's wings to bring him back to the duel. Setting a card and ending his
turn, Greiger thinks Crow would've been better off flying away with his Duel
Runner. He's going to make Greiger pay for taking away his family and draws
(where at 5:35 into the US episode, Bora the Spear is an EARTH monster instead
of a DARK monster). Next, since Crow has at least 2 Speed Counters, he activates Speed Spell - Angel Baton to draw 2 cards, then discard 1 (though he makes it sound like it's a requirement for Blackwing - Mistral the Silver Shield (1800), which he plays in Defense Mode instead of Angel Baton's side effect). Then he Special Summons Blackwing - Bora the Spear (1700) in Attack Mode by its first effect. His attack doesn't destroy Trap Reactor YFI but leaves Greiger down to 3100 LPs as Greiger activated Fake Explosion to protect YFI and Special Summon Summon Reactor SK (2000) in Attack Mode. However, Yusei has found the duel and Greiger's Duel Runner picks up on it, ending his conversation with Crow. Despite Yuse's pleas, Crow agrees to stay in the duel, recalling his childhood where he met the family he now has (and they call D.D. Crow "Vayu", as in Blackwing - Vayu the Emblem of Honor around 10:39 to 10:40 into the US episode). After more arguing, Yusei agrees to let Crow continue the duel and Greiger draws, playing Spell Reactor RE (1200) in Attack Mode. Then he uses SRSK's effect to send his monsters to the Graveyard for Flying Fortress SKYFIRE (3000) in Attack Mode, giving Yusei memories of how he nearly lost to it. Greiger uses SKYFIRE's effect to destroy Mistral, then takes out Bora the Spear with its attack but due to Mistral's effect, Crow's Life Points are spared. Crow draws, not getting exactly what he intended and plays Blackwing - Vayu the Emblem of Honor (0000) in Defense Mode, which gets destroyed by SKYFIRE's attack. Crow draws, and use Vayu's effect to remove from play itself and Blackwing - Elphin the Raven (discarded by Angel Baton's side effect) for Blackwing Armor Master (2500) in Attack Mode. Then he Special Summons Blackwing - Gale the Whirlwind (1300) in Attack Mode by its first effect. He attacks with Armor Master, leaving a Wedge Counter, which gets removed to leave SKYFIRE's ATK at 0 this turn. (The real Vayu negates the Synchro Monster's effects.) His attack with Gale destroys SKYFIRE and leaves Greiger down to 1800 and temporarily out of the duel.When Greiger returns, he uses Dark Tuner Doom Submarine's effect to Special Summon itself (0000) in Attack Mode. Then he plays Darksea Rescue (0000) in Attack Mode and uses both as Dark Synchro Material for Dark Flat Top (3000) in Defense Mode. (The real card is a regular Synchro Monster that needs a DARK Tuner and non-Tuner Machine-Type monsters.) Is Crow really doomed? |
