Episode 31: Keith's Machinations (1)

Before Joey's match with Bandit Keith, Joey and Yugi discuss the idea of facing off against each other. They agree to make it an honorable Duel but Joey is unaware that he doesn't have the card that grants him the ability to participate as Keith took it from his coat pocket the night before. Joey is now racing against the clock while Keith decides to relax, only to be told that he has to be there when the clock runs out or be disqualified even with the card. Try as he might, Joey can't find it and breaks into tears on the floor with just a few minutes left to go. Luckily, Mai is there but she wants to see him upright and not crying so she hands him her card as she no longer needs it. Joey makes it just in time so the Duel takes place.

Joey soon finds himself against an army of Keith's machines, each with anti-magic armor to resist magic attacks. However, Joey makes a combo of his own to power up one of his monsters, only to fall victim to one of Keith's traps. Joey tries to defend himself but Keith is well-prepared, untl he falls victim for one of Joey's Trap Cards. After a 2nd failure to take Joey down, Keith is very upset and unwilling to accept being made fun of.
