Episode 24: Face-Off (3)

Yami feels backed into a corner with nothing in his Deck, infected or not, that can defeat Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon. However, as luck would have it, he doesn't need a stronger monster, he needs a strong defense and gets one using a combo. Try as Kaiba might, he cannot break through Yami's defense, even with his new monster so Yami decides to deliver a crippling blow to Kaiba's monster with a fusion of his own.  Once Kaiba's monster is weak enough, Yami decides to go on the offensive and takes one of the heads off of Kaiba's monster. Kaiba can do little but watch and remember how close he was to defeating Yami and saving his brother. Kaiba then gets an idea and backs his way to the top of the castle ledge.

It's a move that the rest of the gang don't like and it's one that has Yami and Yugi mentally struggling to do what's right. Yami decides he can't afford to hold back but Yugi intervenes and gets the attack to stop but ends up shedding tears as he faces defeat. Kaiba revives 1/3 of his monster and wins the Duel with his attack, showing no sympathy for Yugi's sacrifice. Tea` tries to convince Kaiba to show more respect but Kaiba refuses and gains access into Pegasus' castle.

Episode Cards
DUEL 1: Yami: Kuriboh, Multiply, MG, Polymerization, LA, CG
                 Kaiba:
Monster Reborn, Blue-Eyes White Dragon
Deviations from the TCG
1. Players started with only 2000 LP and could Normal Summon monsters of any Level without Tributing.
2. Multiply created an endless number of Kuribohs that protected the user, even if the Kuribohs were destroyed.

3. Monster Reborn was called "Reborn the Monster" in the Dub.
4. Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon wasn't destroyed from Yami's attacks and Kaiba was able to reive one of its heads with Blue-Eyes' orginal ATK of 3000.

5. Yami was able to not only fuse a monster with a Spell Card but also combine said fusion with another monster.
Errors
1. Rock Ogre Grotto was in Attack Mode on Joey's field yet Joey isn't shown to take any damage. This implies either the monster was extra or was in Defense Mode without being shown as such.
