Battles of Legend: Relentless Revenge
BLRR-EN010 | |
Golden Castle of Stromberg Field Spell Once per turn, during your Standby Phase, you must banish 10 cards from the top of your Deck face-down (this is not optional), or this card is destroyed. During your Main Phase: You can Special Summon 1 monster from your Deck that specifically lists the card "Golden Castle of Stromberg" in its text. You cannot Normal Summon/Set the turn you activate this effect (even if this card leaves the field). You can only use this effect of "Golden Castle of Stromberg" once per turn. When an opponent's monster declares an attack: Destroy the attacking monster, and if you do, inflict damage to your opponent equal to half the ATK that monster had on the field. SECRET RARE |
|
Rating: | 2 |
Comments: | Honestly, I feel it was a poor decision to center the other Fairy Tale cards around this one as this one has taken a beating from its anime version, at least from after Zigfried von Schroeder modified it. There may be others that support this card too but I doubt they'll be much better. The only good effect is the last one and it's offset by the big maintenance cost that you can't really avoid. |
BLRR-EN009 | |
Hexe Trude DARK / Spellcaster / Level 8 / ATK 2600 / DEF 2100 If "Golden Castle of Stromberg" is in a Field Zone, you can Normal Summon this card without Tributing. Once per turn, if "Golden Castle of Stromberg" is in a Field Zone: You can target 1 card on the field, except this one; destroy it, and if you do, this card can make up to 2 attacks on monsters during each Battle Phase this turn. When this card destroys a monster by battle: You can target 1 face-up monster you control; it gains 400 ATK. SECRET RARE |
|
Rating: | 2 |
Comments: | You don't have to control Golden Castle but given how poor Golden Castle of Stromberg is, its not likely to see much play as they crippled to where it's barely usable. The other effect isn't that good either, even if it's used on itself. |
BLRR-EN008 | |
Glife the Phantom Bird WIND / Winged Beast / Level 4 / ATK 1500 / DEF 1500 You can discard this card; add 1 "Golden Castle of Stromberg" from your Deck to your hand. If this card is Normal or Special Summoned: You can target 1 card in your opponent's Spell & Trap Zone; destroy it. You can only use this effect of "Glife the Phantom Bird" once per turn. SECRET RARE |
|
Rating: | 2 |
Comments: | It's searchable and can search the not-so-infamous-anymore Golden Castle but really doesn't do a whole lot once its effects are used, or if they're negated. It's also not very strong to hold its own. |
BLRR-EN007 | |
Iron Knight EARTH / Warrior / Level 4 / ATK 1700 / DEF 700 Loses 1000 ATK while you control "Iron Hans". If this card on the field is destroyed by battle or sent to the GY by a card effect: You can add 1 "Iron Hans" from your Deck to your hand, or, if "Golden Castle of Stromberg" is in a Field Zone, you can add 1 Warrior monster from your Deck to your hand, instead. You can only use this effect of "Iron Knight" once per turn. ULTRA RARE |
|
Rating: | 1 |
Comments: | Apparently there was little Konami could think of to improve this card because all they did was also make it useless support for equally bad and sub-par cards. |
BLRR-EN006 | |
Iron Hans EARTH / Warrior / Level 4 / ATK 1200 / DEF 800 If this card is Summoned: You can Special Summon 1 "Iron Knight" from your Deck, also if "Golden Castle of Stromberg" is not in a Field Zone when this effect resolves, you cannot Special Summon monsters from the Extra Deck for the rest of this turn. You can only use this effect of "Iron Hans" once per turn. Gains 1000 ATK for each "Iron Knight" you control, while "Golden Castle of Stromberg" is in a Field Zone. ULTRA RARE |
|
Rating: | 1 |
Comments: | It needs a worthless monster to gain 1000 or more ATK but why bother when monsters released before it don't require anything special are already stronger? |
BLRR-EN005 | |
Pumpkin Carriage EARTH / Plant / Level 3 / ATK 0 / DEF 300 "Prinzessin" you control can attack directly. Your opponent cannot target "Golden Castle of Stromberg" you control with card effects, also it cannot be destroyed by card effects. ULTRA RARE |
|
Rating: | 1 |
Comments: | It doesn't mattter how well it protects other cards when it doesn't protect itself and those stats are going to make it an easy target. |
BLRR-EN004 | |
Prinzessin LIGHT / Fairy / Level 4 / ATK 300 / DEF 600 If this card is Normal or Special Summoned: You can Special Summon 1 "Pumpkin Carriage" from your hand or Deck, then, if "Golden Castle of Stromberg" is in a Field Zone, you can equip 1 "Glass Slippers" from your Deck to this card. You can only use this effect of "Prinzessin" once per turn. When this card inflicts battle damage to your opponent by a direct attack: You can target 1 "Glass Slippers" equipped to this card and 1 face-up monster on the field; equip that "Glass Slippers" to that target. SECRET RARE |
|
Rating: | 1 |
Comments: | Her name doesn't follow the anime name, at least in English but it doesn't matter because neither her effects, nor her stats make her fit for the ball or glass slippers, which are probably dangerous. |
BLRR-EN003 | |
Flying Elephant WIND / Beast / Level 4 / ATK 1850 / DEF 1300 Once per opponent's turn, if this card would be destroyed by their card effect, it is not destroyed. Once per turn, during their End Phase, if that effect was applied this turn: Apply the following effect. ● During your next turn, if this card inflicts battle damage to your opponent by a direct attack, you win the Duel. SECRET RARE |
|
Rating: | 3 |
Comments: | It was given a bit of a buff based on the events that cost Bandit Keith the Intercontinental Championship but the effect isn't likely to be pulled off. |
BLRR-EN002 | |
Summon Dice Normal Spell Pay 1000 LP; roll a six-sided die and apply the result. ● 1 or 2: Immediately after this effect resolves, you can Normal Summon 1 monster. ● 3 or 4: You can Special Summon 1 monster from your GY. ● 5 or 6: You can Special Summon 1 Level 5 or higher monster from your hand. You can only activate 1 "Summon Dice" per turn. ULTRA RARE |
|
Rating: | 1 |
Comments: | Normally 1000 LP isn't much of a fee but when the effects are generally better done with other cards, it's too steep to be worthwhile. |
BLRR-EN001 | |
Orgoth the Relentless EARTH / Warrior / Level 7 / ATK 2500 / DEF 2450 Once per turn, during your Main Phase: You can roll a six-sided die 3 times and this card gains ATK/DEF equal to the total x 100 (until the end of your opponent's turn), then, if 2 of the results were the same, apply the appropriate effect. If all 3 were the same, apply all of these effects. ● 1 or 2: This card cannot be destroyed by battle or card effects, until the end of your opponent's turn. ● 3 or 4: Draw 2 cards. ● 5 or 6: This card can attack directly this turn. SECRET RARE |
|
Rating: | 2 |
Comments: | Its DEF isn't much higher than other monsters its Level and the main effect is entirely a gamble. The other two effects can be okay but they're dependent on the combined result of the main effect. |
Dark Saviors (Continued)
DASA-EN039 | |
Sky Striker Airspace - Area Zero Field Spell You can target 1 other card you control; excavate the top 3 cards of your Deck, and if you do, you can add 1 excavated "Sky Striker" card to your hand, also shuffle the rest into the Deck, then, if you excavated a "Sky Striker" card, send the targeted card to the GY. If this card in the Field Zone is sent to the GY by a card effect: You can Special Summon 1 "Sky Striker Ace" monster from your Deck. You can only use each effect of "Sky Striker Airspace - Area Zero" once per turn. SUPER RARE |
|
Rating: | 2 |
Comments: | I wouldn't even bother using the 1st effect as it's a gamble in any Deck, including Sky Striker Decks. Just destroy it yourself or have your opponent do it and get a free Sky Striker Ace monster as that's better than the vast majory of Sky Striker support cards combined. |
DASA-EN038 | |
Sky Striker Mecha Modules - Multirole Continuous Spell Once per turn: You can target 1 other card you control; send that card to the GY, also your opponent cannot activate cards or effects in response to your Spell Card activations for the rest of this turn (even if this card leaves the field). (You can only gain the previous effect once per turn.) Once per turn, during the End Phase: You can Set "Sky Striker" Spells with different names from your GY, up to the number of "Sky Striker" Spell Cards you activated this turn while this card was face-up on your field, but banish them when they leave the field. SECRET RARE |
|
Rating: | 2 |
Comments: | At least this one doesn't require you to have no monsters out just to activate it. Even so, most of the support for Sky Strikers is Cyberdark Impact bad. |
DASA-EN037 | |
Sky Striker Mecharmory - Hercules Base Equip Spell Activate this card only if you control no monsters in your Main Monster Zones. The equipped monster cannot attack directly. It can make a second attack on monsters during each Battle Phase. If the equipped monster destroys a monster by its attack while you have 3 or more Spells in your GY: Draw 1 card. If this card is sent from the field to the GY by a card effect: You can target up to 3 "Sky Striker" cards in your GY, except "Sky Striker Mecharmory - Hercules Base"; shuffle them into the Deck. SUPER RARE |
|
Rating: | 1 |
Comments: | Even the Equip Spells aren't immune to the poor activation requirements of the others. Why use an Equip Spell to attack twice when multiple monsters released before it can already do that for free? Plus, those monsters are probably more searchable than this too. |
DASA-EN036 | |
Sky Striker Mecha - Shark Cannon Quick-Play Spell If you control no monsters in your Main Monster Zones: Target 1 monster in your opponent's GY; banish that monster, or, if you have 3 or more Spells in your GY, you can Special Summon that monster to your field instead, but it cannot attack. SECRET RARE |
|
Rating: | 1 |
Comments: | Whether you want to banish the monster or revive it on your field, this is among the worst cards to do it with. |
DASA-EN035 | |
Sky Striker Mecha - Eagle Booster Quick-Play Spell If you control no monsters in your Main Monster Zones: Target 1 face-up monster on the field; that target is unaffected by card effects this turn, except its own, and if you have 3 or more Spells in your GY, it cannot be destroyed by battle this turn. SUPER RARE |
|
Rating: | 1 |
Comments: | While a Trap Card, Safe Zone can do so much more than this and is still less situaitonal. |
DASA-EN034 | |
Sky Striker Mecha - Widow Anchor Quick-Play Spell If you control no monsters in your Main Monster Zones: Target 1 face-up Effect Monster on the field; negate that face-up monster's effects until the end of this turn, then, if you have 3 or more Spells in your GY, you can take control of that monster until the End Phase. SECRET RARE |
|
Rating: | 1 |
Comments: | There's better ways to gain control of monsters and/or negate their effects than this. Don't waste your time or Deck space. |
DASA-EN033 | |
Sky Striker Mecha - Hornet Drones Quick-Play Spell If you control no monsters in your Main Monster Zones: Special Summon 1 "Sky Striker Ace Token" (Warrior/DARK/Level 1/ATK 0/DEF 0) in Defense Position, which cannot be Tributed, and if you have 3 or more Spells in your GY when this effect resolves, the Token's ATK/DEF become 1500 instead. SUPER RARE |
|
Rating: | 1 |
Comments: | I can get more Tokens with other cards that are also less restrictive on what the Token(s) can be used for. |
DASA-EN032 | |
Sky Striker Maneuver - Jamming Waves! Normal Spell If you control no monsters in your Main Monster Zones: Target 1 Set Spell/Trap on the field; destroy it, then, if you have 3 or more Spells in your GY, you can destroy 1 monster on the field. SECRET RARE |
|
Rating: | 1 |
Comments: | Much like the previous card, this card's best asset is a weaker version of the much more versatile Mystical Space Typhoon. The other effect is even more situational than the previous card's 1st effect. |
DASA-EN031 | |
Sky Striker Maneuver - Afterburners! Normal Spell If you control no monsters in your Main Monster Zones: Target 1 face-up monster on the field; destroy it, then, if you have 3 or more Spells in your GY, you can destroy 1 Spell/Trap on the field. SECRET RARE |
|
Rating: | 1 |
Comments: | The destruction of 1 lone monster isn't worth having empty Main Monster Zones and the other effect is much too situational to be useful. |
DASA-EN030 | |
Sky Striker Mobilize - Engage! Normal Spell If you control no monsters in your Main Monster Zones: Add 1 "Sky Striker" card from your Deck to your hand, except "Sky Striker Mobilize - Engage!", then, if you have 3 or more Spells in your GY, you can draw 1 card. SECRET RARE |
|
Rating: | 2 |
Comments: | It's not restrained on anything other than the card being a Sky Striker one but it still requires you to have all your Main Monster Zones empty. You're probably not going to get the other effect often though. |
