DUSA-EN075 | |
Goyo Guardian EARTH / Warrior-Type Synchro / Level 6 / ATK 2800 / DEF 2000 1 EARTH Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner monsters When this card destroys an opponent's monster by battle and sends it to the Graveyard: You can Special Summon that monster to your field in Defense Position. ULTRA RARE |
|
Rating: | 2 |
Comments: | That one change to make it require an EARTH Tuner monster reduces its uses drastically as it now will require more thought as to where to use it. The effect, Level, and stats have stayed the same, though it won't be able to grab as many monsters as it used to. |
DUSA-EN073 | |
Brionac, Dragon of the Ice Barrier WATER / Sea Serpent-Type Synchro / Level 6 / ATK 2300 / DEF 1400 1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner monsters You can discard any number of cards to the Graveyard, then target the same number of cards your opponent controls; return those cards to the hand. You can only use this effect of "Brionac, Dragon of the Ice Barrier" once per turn. ULTRA RARE |
|
Rating: | 3 |
Comments: | For me, the card's erratum doesn't change how I use it but there's enough of a change to warrant me to rate it again as now the loops that made it broken can no longer be made. Of course, since it didn't get any other changes, it's still decent enough to use. |
DUSA-EN062 | |
|
Future Fusion Continuous Spell During your 1st Standby Phase after this card's activation: Show 1 Fusion Monster in your Extra Deck and send the Fusion Materials listed on it from your Main Deck to the Graveyard. During your 2nd Standby Phase after this card's activation: Fusion Summon 1 Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck with the same name as the monster you showed, and target it with this card. When this card leaves the field, destroy that target. When that target is destroyed, destroy this card. ULTRA RARE |
Rating: | 1 |
Comments: | The extra delay before you even send Fusion Materials is plenty of time for it to be destroyed before any benefits are gained, which makes the card completely useless. |
DUSA-EN049 | |
|
Imperial Order Continuous Trap Negate all Spell effects on the field. Once per turn, during the Standby Phase, you must pay 700 LP (this is not optional), or this card is destroyed. ULTRA RARE |
Rating: | 1 |
Comments: | Now you have no way out once it's activated except a Trap or Monster effect as you're forced to pay the fee during all Standby Phases of the Duel until you're down to 700 or less LP. |
DUSA-EN046 | |
Brain Control Normal Spell Pay 800 LP, then target 1 face-up monster your opponent controls that can be Normal Summoned/Set; take control of that target until the End Phase. ULTRA RARE |
|
Rating: | 1 |
Comments: | With all the various ways people Special Summon, this card has become worthless thanks to its recent erratum that forces the owner to only gain control of monsters that can be Normal Summoned or Set. |
DUSA-EN042 | |
Dueltaining Field Spell For each player, the first time they do each of the following per turn, they draw 2 cards. ● Special Summon 5 monsters with different Levels at the same time. ● 1 monster they control battles 5 times. ● Activate a card or effect as Chain Link 5 or higher. ● Roll 1 six-sided die, or toss a coin, 5 times. ● Take damage that made their LP 500 or less. ULTRA RARE |
|
Rating: | 1 |
Comments: | Yuya Sakaki's way of dueling is cringe-worthy at best (and that's partially why I haven't reviewed the show yet) and this card only makes it even worse because each effect has a strict requirement to meet before you get anything out of it. |
DUSA-EN041 | |
|
Contract with Don Thousand Continuous Spell When this card is activated: Both players lose 1000 LP, and if they do, each draws 1 card. All cards that are drawn while this card's effect is applied must remain revealed. While a player's Spell Card in their hand is revealed by this effect, that player cannot Normal Summon/Set monsters. You can only activate 1 "Contract with Don Thousand" per turn. ULTRA RARE |
Rating: | 1 |
Comments: | It was broken in the anime but now it's just terrible considering both players are forced to lose 1000 LP and keep every card in their hand revealed when it's drawn, not to mention are locked out of Normal Summoning or Setting monsters while they have a Spell Card revealed. |
DUSA-EN040 | |
Halfway to Forever Normal Trap Target 2 monsters in your Graveyard; Special Summon both, but they have their effects negated (if any), and if you do, immediately after this effect resolves, Xyz Summon 1 LIGHT "Utopia" or "Utopic" Xyz Monster using only those 2 monsters. ULTRA RARE |
|
Rating: | 2 |
Comments: | It revives any 2 monsters in your Graveyard to become Xyz Materials but only to a LIGHT Utopia or Utopic Xyz Monster and you can't use any other monsters you control as the Xyz Material. |
DUSA-EN039 | |
Light Wing Shield Quick-Play Spell When a monster's attack is negated: Activate 1 of these effects; ● It becomes the End Phase of this turn. ● Target 1 "Utopia" Xyz Monster you control; its ATK becomes double its original ATK until the end of this turn. If a "Utopia" Xyz Monster you control would detach exactly 1 Xyz Material to activate its effect, you can banish this card from your Graveyard instead. ULTRA RARE |
|
Rating: | 2 |
Comments: | Modelled after Number 39: Utopia's dub effect name in the anime and somewhat from Yuma Tsukumo's use of Double or Nothing! once Utopia's attack is negated but personally, this isn't much better than Double or Nothing! or regular Utopia's effect. |
DUSA-EN038 | |
Clashing Souls Quick-Play Spell During damage calculation, if your Attack Position monster battles an opponent's Attack Position monster with higher ATK: The controller of the battling monster with lower ATK can pay 500 LP for that monster to gain 500 ATK during damage calculation only, then keep repeating this effect until a player chooses not to pay LP. Neither player takes any battle damage from that battle, also, after damage calculation, if any player's monster would be destroyed by that battle, send all cards that player controls to the Graveyard instead. ULTRA RARE |
|
Rating: | 1 |
Comments: | Talk about hurting both players because it forces each player that wants to defeat their opponent's monster to pay LP in hopes it survives but since both players can do this, it's an endless loop until someone is low on LP and loses everything else they control, but regardless of who wins, battle damage is nullified, rendering the entire effort pointless. |
DUSA-EN037 | |
Converging Wishes Normal Trap If you have 5 or more Dragon-Type Synchro Monsters with different names in your Graveyard: Special Summon 1 "Stardust Dragon" from your Extra Deck (this is treated as a Synchro Summon), but banish it during the End Phase. Equip it with this card. While equipped, it gains ATK equal to the combined ATK of all Dragon-Type Synchro Monsters in your Graveyard. Also while equipped, when it destroys an opponent's monster by battle: You can banish 1 Dragon-Type Synchro Monster from your Graveyard; it can attack an opponent's monster again in a row. ULTRA RARE |
|
Rating: | 2 |
Comments: | It works on any Stardust Dragon monster but there aren't many of those and you won't be keeping that monster for long so you'd better hope your attack with that monster succeeds. |
DUSA-EN036 | |
Cosmic Flare Quick-Play Spell Target 1 "Stardust" Synchro Monster you control; this turn, if that Synchro Monster you control battles an opponent's monster, shuffle that opponent's monster into the Deck at the start of the Damage Step. If a "Stardust" Synchro Monster you control would Tribute itself to activate its effect, you can banish this card from your Graveyard instead. ULTRA RARE |
|
Rating: | 2 |
Comments: | Shuffling the other monster into the Deck is only worth it if the othe rmonster is either stronger or has an effect that puts a damper on your strategy. Being able to use Stardust Dragon's effect without Tributing itself isn't that bad though. |
DUSA-EN035 | |
|
Clear Effector LIGHT / Spellcaster / Level 2 / ATK 0 / DEF 900 If this card is sent to the Graveyard as a Synchro Material: Draw 1 card. A Synchro Monster that used this card as a Synchro Material cannot be destroyed by card effects. ULTRA RARE |
Rating: | 2 |
Comments: | Too bad it's not a Tuner monster but it offers relatively decent effects when it becomes Synchro Material. |
DUSA-EN034 | |
Cosmic Blazar Dragon WIND / Dragon-Type Synchro / Level 12 / ATK 4000 / DEF 4000 1 Tuner Synchro Monster + 2 or more non-Tuner Synchro Monsters Must be Synchro Summoned, and cannot be Special Summoned by other ways. You can banish this card until the End Phase to activate 1 of these Quick Effects; ● When your opponent activates a card or effect: Negate the activation, and if you do, destroy that card. ● When your opponent would Summon a monster(s): Negate the Summon, and if you do, destroy that monster(s). ● When an opponent's monster declares an attack: Negate the attack, then end the Battle Phase. ULTRA RARE |
|
Rating: | 2 |
Comments: | Each effect will cause this behemoth to leave the field to stop the offending move your opponent makes from happening but luckily it only stays banished until the End Phase. Unfortunately, these perks mean you have to put in a lot of effort and aren't allowed to Special Summon it by other means later. |
DUSA-EN033 | |
Power Wall Normal Trap During damage calculation, when you would take battle damage from an opponent's attacking monster: Send 1 card from the top of your Deck to the Graveyard for every 500 damage (round up) you are about to take, also you take no battle damage from that battle. ULTRA RARE |
|
Rating: | 2 |
Comments: | I guess the anime effect was deemed too powerful for Graveyard-centered Decks but even this can be somewhat taken advantage of, though it also reduces its uses. |
