HEXBUG BattleBots VEX Robotics Kits Reviews
1. If you have leftover pieces from building the kits, it is in your best interest to keep them. You may find you're missing a piece as I did with the Minotaur kit. Found that same piece as a leftover from the Tombstone kit. |

Robot |
Pros: |
Cons: |
Warhead https://battlebots.fandom.com/wiki/Warhead/VEX_Robotics |
Pros: Comedy Central-era bot, arms and tail are adjustable for different poses, can be a cheaper option than other kits |
Cons: No armor over the wheels, tail is tricky to assemble properly, weapon is not adjustable like arms and tail, instructions are unclear about 2nd sticker placement |
End Game https://battlebots.fandom.com/wiki/End_Game/VEX_Robotics |
Pros: Solid build once completed, can be a cheaper option than other kits |
Cons: Wedge does not reach the floor, instructions for attaching sides are unclear, making certain areas of building the kit tricky |
Bite Force https://battlebots.fandom.com/wiki/Bite_Force/VEX_Robotics |
Pros: RC mostly, accurate to real life robot, solid weapon design |
Cons: Requires VEX Pilot app, which generally needs updating first, and can be fussy to update or drive, requires many AA batteries, does not run upside down at all, only 2-wheel drive |
Minotaur https://battlebots.fandom.com/wiki/Minotaur/VEX_Robotics |
Pros: Solid weapon design, weapon spins upward just like in real life |
Cons: Chain driven weapon, unlike the real robot, sides can be difficult to understand which side goes where, driving the toy upside down is a bit awkward, weapon is wrong color |
Tombstone https://battlebots.fandom.com/wiki/Tombstone/VEX_Robotics |
Pros: Two designs to choose from, chain driven weapon like real robot, invertible |
Cons: Gearbox tends to fail after a few uses, instructions are not clear how many links in the chain are needed for weapon and drive |
